Ira Steven Behr offered multiple hints and a little honesty regarding the character of 4400 leader Jordan Collier (Billy Campbell). Behr is the executive producer of the show, and spoke at the Comic Con this past weekend.

Collier was assassinated in the second season, but mysteriously re-appeared in the last few minutes of the final episode last season.

"Well, where was he last time?" Behr said. "Let's just look at this logically. The last time Jordan Collier disappeared, where was he? He was in the future, right? With all these other people allegedly ... taken to the future. Then he was killed and disappeared again. Where do you think he might have gone?"

Behr added, "We will find out where Jordan Collier was according to Jordan Collier, and ... then it's up to all of us collectively to decide whether or not we believe him. ... I still have my doubts."

Then comes the honesty. Campbell, who was also attending the press conference at the Comic Con, said the following: "I have absolutely no idea what the explanation will be. They are making it up as they go along, which is part of the joy of the show."

I wish they would give us some SFX for the special giftet people in The 4400. That's the one thing I still miss in this series.

Shit. I shouldn't have started reading this article. I just watched the 1st season on DVD and haven't watched the 2nd yet. Guess I know one thing that happens.

Keep watching it. The second half of the season is excellent even if you know he was killed you don't know by who.

Folks, no offense, but if you don't want to be spoiled about the show, then perhaps you shouldn't go into an articled that has the word "hints" in the title. :)

I knew he was killed, and also knew that "his body was stolen" but didnt know he was seen again (in the future?)
You knew he'd be back though, they keep showing him on the 4400 episode openings, even though he'd left the show? I didnt think so.

I wish I remembered WHICH episode it was but at the end they show him next to that lake featured in the first season all disheveled looking. Thats been awhile though. Wonder what he's been up to.

that musta been the one show I missed, I watched MOST of the second season when USA did their little 4400 marathon prior to the 3rd season... oddly enough this little nugget was omitted.
it must have been right after his body was stolen.

It was at the very end of Season 2.
