While out doing the press rounds for his new movie 'Soul Men', Samuel L. Jackson told reporters that he'll have an expanded role as Nick Fury in the upcoming 'Iron Man 2' movie.
IESB reports that Jackson said he spoke to director Jon Favreau at the recent Scream Awards. The director promised that the actor would have a "more prominent" appearance in the sequel.
Fans recall Jackson's famous post-credit walk-on in the original movie, where he meets with Robert Downey Jr's Tony Stark to propose the "Avengers initiative."
Jackson also said he's looking forward to working with Don Cheadle.
I don't like the Ultimates Universe but I like Sam Jackson. I hope Downey can keep up.
I bought the movie Iron Man just because of Samuel Jackson's brief appearance.
Samuel J doesn't excite me as much as he used to--since he has done some crappy movies, but I'm excited about the Marvel universe expanding on the big screen. I'll never be able to hate the guy after his Pulp Fiction role--some of the greatest lines delivered in cinematic history.
Nick Fury: "Hulk, I said back the fuck off. I am a mushroom cloud layin mother-fucker, mother fucker! If you can just be cool--we can walk the earth like Kane from Kung Fu--just be two bad ass motherfuckers!"
I still don't know why they changed Nick Fury. He just looks like Shaft with a patch.
Affirmitive Action.
The Marvel universe didn't have enough token black, err..African American super-heros. So when they rebooted and started the Ultimate Universe, they decided to make a major character black.
Makes total sense since IM is so key with SHIELD in both Universes and since they're still trying to get the team together. Hopefully we'll have some hints of other characters being considered for the team and so on. Something to keep us wanting more. Maybe we'll get a peak at Fury's Files.
