yea I'm not surprised by iron man 2- I just cant get past comparing roobin hood and the gladiator, it feels like the same type of thing only set in different time zones. I may eventually watch robin hood but it will be a rental.

\I loved the avengers easter eggs in the movie- I even got a kick out of the last one. I still dont know if I want to check out some oof the single charachter movies though. If they turn thor or captain america into 3d Ill wait for a movie rental.

blacksinglesally...peddle that crap somewhere else please. Thank you.

Saw IM2 again and enjoyed it as much as the first viewing. I have disagree that there wasn't enough IM or that the fight scenes were too short. I thought everything was balanced just right. Why was Mickey in the shop so long? Because of all of the changes he was making to the robot drones. The thing I liked about Favreau's two IM movies is they're real...well, as real as they can be. I don't think I've ever seen a comic book super hero-based movie where the main grievance was that the hero wasn't in costume enough. I want to see the hero's life inside the suit because it makes who he is and what he does that much more vital. IM2 had great balance for me.

Robin Hood was fun and the actors involved all deliver, but I didn't like the basic plot or that Russell was a little long in the tooth for a Robin Hood prequel, which is what this was. He would be better playing an older Robin, like Connery did in Robin and Marion (I think that was the title of the film). Ridley can definitely shoot a historic battle scene. I still think his best historic movie is the director's cut of Kingdom of Heaven.

The new Shrek looks dumb, but the kids want to see it so I'm sure I'll have to sit through that one. MacGruber however won't get any of my money. The previews aren't funny and with a movie like that you'd think they would put the funniest stuff in the trailer to sucker people into going to see the movie. SNL hasn't been consistently funny in a looooong time, and this skit is one of the many bad ones. I can't watch 90 minutes of bad. Lorne Michaels must really have the juice to get a crapfest like that greenlit and financed.

First of all , was there really any doubt that Ironman would beat out Robin Hood ? Comic book movies are taking over the box office. Speaking of, I'd hate to see the movies that have to compete with Thor, Captain America, AND  Green Lantern, all coming out next year.  Second, in what universe does a twilight movie out due Ironman, or ANY OTHER MOVIE COMING OUT THIS YEAR. The only people that are gonna see this are people who saw the last one and liked it(emphasis on "liked it"), or those same obsessed tweenies, who gushed over the last two. Trust me, it won't even make a dent in the box office.

This was to be expected. While I did like Iron Man 2, it didn't grab me like the first movie did. I think Mickey Rourke deserved more screen time and Pepper Pots needs to stop complaining so much. She's starting to turn into Kirsten Dunst's Mary Jane from the Spider-Man movies. All MJ did was whine in every film.

karas1: Your opinion of Robin Hood and Iron Man doesn't surprise me. Do you go to many Medieval reenactments?

Iron Man 2--too large a chunk in the middle with nothing going on.

Robin Hood--thoroughly entertaining. Crowe & Blanchett are wonderful together.

Well we'll agree to disagree cause I thought Black Widow was pretty pointless and the film could've done without her and instead dedicated more time to Rourke.  In IM2 we learn : this is Black Widow, she's a Shield agent, she's hot, she fights and speaks different languages.  We could've learned all of that in a 1-2 minute scene in The Avengers.

Now excuse me while I pack my belongings and go on the run from the Hurt Locker producers.  Thnx for the heads up.

LOL, Well you said you were thinking of moving to the southwest anyway, I'll hum the Incredible Hulk hitchhiking music

We'll disagree but I like how they played it. Like I said similar to the comics' intro and she had a purpose as a bit of a sidekick in a sense. You can't introduce all these characters in the Avengers when the story needs to focus  more on the team's interactions and the villain. And like I said similar to the comics

Did I mention that it was similar to the comics

I knew this was going to happen: An awesome movie about a guy in his high tech armor, with funny annicdotes (sp?) vs a story about a tired legend thats been over told not to mention it has PG-13 medevil battle scenes (yawn) no thanks.

Darkknight2280 5/17/2010 4:24:47 AM

yeah Hanso is wayy off...they arent pimping the Avengers they have to set up this mega movie or people arent going to knwo WTF is going on by the time it comes out, cept us comic book geeks :) The use of Mickey Rourke was great he was a behinde the scences villan, plus the more screen time he got the bigger the pay check. They already had RDJ, Paltrow, Scar jo and Don Cheadle. Thats alot of bank right there, then you add an oscar winner. give him more screen time then he had and ur adding alot more bank. The story was setup perfectly to make sure he didnt have alot fo screen time and the time he did i thought he was good as usual. IM2 is great! I need to get to my 2nd viewing this weekend.

I also saw Robin Hood.  Great film for me.  They turned the story upside down giving it a fresh look.  Kinda like a prequel to stuff we have seen over and over again.  An actual story I can break down step by step.  Great battles, end battle was really good.  No problems here for the movie.  Better story than IM2 put side by side.  I hope it makes budget for a sequel with this bunch.  End credit animation is worth watching also.

BTW they did not show the King dead only dying so....
