Well the way I read it was that the Mandarin is a background character. So if that's true I'm holding to my original opinion that they'll save him for an Avengers flick.
AIM is just an organization or a movement so I can see linking them to a lot of stuff through out the earth based films like IM, CA, Hulk or SHIELD
And the story was reportedly 'extremis' but obviously a loose adaptation considering the characters involved
@Violater Look up one of the milestone Ironman issues...300 maybe? Stark went into battle with all of his friends wearing some of the older Ironman armors. Pepper had a line about the suit chaffing her hips because well, they were still Tony's suits and not configured for anyone else. Favreau could then get to wear the protoype/Mk I in a feature as I think they stuck Ton's larger friend (whose name escapes me) in that.
The War Machine armor in the second movie was such a disappointment, they really need to correct that.
