Well, this is something fans have been wanting in the 10+ years that Comics2Film has been reporting movie news: a crossover. Not the overblown Countdown to Infinite Civil Annihilation that publishers crap out these days, but the more intimate stuff of early Marvel. Thor flying past Spidey as he clings to a flag pole.
Now Ain't it Cool is reporting that Marvel may be starting to infuse their movies with a sense of shared universe, starting with next summer's 'Iron Man' and 'Incredible Hulk'. Here's a report from an anonymous scooper:
There are some fuzzy politics going on with the Iron Man and Hulk movies - they're shooting a scene TOGETHER! The trouble is, I can't tell if its an Iron Man scene with the Hulk in in or a Hulk scene with IRON MAN in it, more interestingly, it's possible that the SAME SCENE or some variation of it might be in BOTH movies lending to the comic book / single universe, many heroes idea seen in the past - uber cool.
Moriarty at AICN speculates that this could be a scene featuring Samuel L. Jackson that may lay the groundwork for the much-discussed 'Avengers' movie.
In Marvel's alternate "Ultimate" universe the Avengers-esque super-team is pulled together by Nick Fury, director of S.H.I.E.L.D. Primary members of the team in both universes include Hulk and Iron Man. And, as fans know, the Ultimate version of Nick Fury is modeled on Mr. Jackson himself.
So, it's exciting to imagine a walk-on at the end of both movies in which Jackson's Nick Fury tries to enlist Robert Downey Jr's Tony Stark and Edward Norton's Bruce Banner into joining his super team.
This is all just unverified rumor and speculation at this point, but it sure is fun to think about!
