As promised two weeks ago, the television spot for Iron Man, which premiered during last night's Super Bowl, has popped up online on many different sites. I'll just refer you to the official Apple site, which has the spot. This upcoming comic adaptation stars Robert Downey Jr., Terrence Howard, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jeff Bridges, Shaun Toub, Leslie Bibb, Bill Smitrovich and Nazanin Boniadi . Jon Favreau helmed the project for Paramount & Marvel Studios.

Check out the new spot here. You can also check out their official new website, which has pictures, downloads and videos.

Plot Summary: Based upon Marvel's iconic Super Hero, "Iron Man" tells the story of Tony Stark, a billionaire industrialist and genius inventor who is kidnapped and forced to build a devastating weapon. Instead, using his intelligence and ingenuity, Tony builds a high-tech suit of armor and escapes captivity. Upon his return to America, Tony must come to terms with his past. When he uncovers a nefarious plot with global implications, he dons his powerful armor and vows to protect the world as Iron Man.

Iron Man will hit theaters May 2, 2008.

Even though that last shot looked a little too CGI for me I still think this looks like a cool movie. Downey JR> may have had his issues but he's always been a good actor. I like him in this part.

I agree with the last shot as well, I thought it looked to CGI, but that trailer has me REALLY excited.

Cannot wait to watch this on the big screen. Oh....and the Giants won! YES!

I have to agree too about the last shot, about being too CGI, otherwise the rest looks good. Now all we need to see is the Hulk.

I'm very excited for this film, but I agree that the tank scene at the end of the spot looked like it was taken from the upcoming game and not the movie. I'm hoping that the CG work on that scene is incomplete. I was at a Super Bowl get together and everyone started asking me all about Iron Man, because I'm the resident comic book fan. The 12 or so friends there were all in their early 40s like me and a couple had heard the name, but didn't know anything about the character or the movie. My best friend was pissed that they didn't use Black Sabbath's song in the spot (I told him about the first trailer). The general consensus is thumbs up for the spot, although a few others mentioned the unimpressive CG at the end. Everyone thought it was great casting for RDJ to play the part of the playboy drunk millionaire.

I'm a Dolphins fan (tough year for me!), but I'm lovin' the Giants tonight because they covered the spread! My book's not looking forward to seeing me tomorrow. Plus, my dad owes me an Ashton cigar. If any of you regulars out there ever make it to Lebanon, PA, on a Saturday, stop in at my family's cigar store "Valley Cigars" for a cigar. We also play a few mean hands of pinochle.

BADASS...
That simple.
"Yeah, I can fly..."
Guess they answered that debate, for all the fanboy's"
Last shot, looked a little video game-ish. They're probably workin overtime on it...,at least I hope they are.
Otherwise Downey Jr looks like stark, love the look and feel of this.
I'll be at IMAX for this opening night.

So I have a question...When they first aired the teaser trailer and it showed him flying I could have sworn that fanboy's were saying Iron Man does not fly and then I read a comment of someone saying that they had heard it was just for the teaser trailer and that he does not and can't fly, so does he fly or not in the comics and if not does the idea of him flying in the movie fly with you guys?
Even though the trailer at the end there looks like a game, it still looks pretty damn cool...

looks good. i'm sure it'll be a blockbuster mega hit. that last part did look a bit too cg but maybe by the time the movie comes out it'll be polished a little better.

madmanic999 • Feb 04, 2008, 02:30am •
mla, Yeah he flies all the time in the comic, and I think all the talk about it was because fans were hoping he flew in the movie as well, but somehow a rumor got started that he didn't. Guess this clears that up.
As for the spot, It was awesome, and that last shot was fine... although I am surprised that after the 2003 Hulk fiasco that they would use any CGI FX shots in this trailer if they didn't have to. Oh yeah, and even though only briefly glimpsed, the Iron monger looks sweeeeeet!

In a word...SWEEEETT!!

Love the tv spot. I don`t care about the scene at the end because I don`t the FX shots are even finished yet. It was a little too mechanical but still looked awesome. Its IRON MAN for eff`s sake!! Him taking it on a test run through Manhattan was cool too.
