Downey looks great as Stark. No doubt about it. Actually with the exception of paltrow, I think they casted this movie to a 'T'! This is one of the movie I am really looking foward to seeing. Cannot wait.

you are rigth, he look good at tony stark ! Actually tony he s from the 70 s, more like burt reynolds in that time, but Domney will make a great Today tony stark....

P S I just saw this week end Ghost rider... The only thing good is the special effect about him, the rest is crap. The story the vilain, the love story, the character, It was good to see peter fonda again, but that s exactly what i was expecting from Dardevil director, crap !!! Please don t screw Iron man

Well, I wouldn`t say Ghost Rider was crap. There were a few pretty good scenes in it. Peter Fonda and Sam Elliot were cool and Nic Cage did a good job as Johnny Blaze. It had its flaws but I didn`t expect the movie to be Spiderman or X-men. GR even though I am a big fan of is a second tier character. Ghost Rider, to me was somewhere in between Daredevil and the Punisher as quality goes. They were just good to see on the big screen.
Iron Man I think will be on a Spiderman, X-men level. At least, I hope it will. I don`t see a problem with Paltrow at all. She is a great actress and has really good acting range. I`m looking forward to this. To me the most important aspect is the look of the movie. Only because, the suit is pretty much its own character. If it looks bad, no matter how good the story is, people will not like the flick.

That's Stark alright.....
Now lets see some picks of what the armor is gonna look like!!!

Yeah, looks like Downey has nailed Tony Stark's look, and I'm certain he will pull off the millionaire playboy personality quite well. I think Paltrow will be just fine as Pepper. I agree with Ponyboy76 and madmanic999...let's see the suit (one of them, anyway).

One thing that always makes me laugh...Paltrow is blonde, but she's picked to play Pepper, a redhead. Dunst is blonde, too, and again is picked to play a redhead, MJ. Howard is a redhead and picked to play a blonde, Gwen. There are a slew of good actresses out there, so why not just pick one whose hair color matches the character they will play? I guess if I was a director it would just be one less thing to worry about.

Why not just pick an actress with the same hair colour?

Because hair colour is ridiculously cheap and directors are more concerned with picking an actress they feel will play the part well and do their vision justice.

Seriously hair colour kits can be obtained for a few dollars and it's the makeup people who have to make her LOOK the part, not the director. So it's not a problem that even blips on the radar screen.

Don't forget folks, women color their hair all the time. Maybe this scene was shot pre-captivity and when Stark comes back, she's gone red. Even if not, who cares? So far, everything has looked great for this movie. If Paltrow's hair color is the biggest of our concerns, I will be a happy, happy fanboy!

Oh, and while we're at it, why not bitch about the fact that Downey has a goatee? The classic Stark look is mustache only. Heresy!

wessmith1966 • Apr 02, 2007, 10:28am •
The goatee is more in line with the "Ultimates" version of Tony Stark. The hair color thing doesn't bother me, but I remember when Dunst was picked as MJ, Howard as Gwen and Gwenyth as Pepper, a lot of the first comments were in reference to the actress' hair color.

He looks drunk. Now, that's what I call acting!
