Italian HUGO Awards Announced

The Italian version of the Hugos, called the Italia Awards, were named this month at the SF convention DEEPCON in Fiuggi, Italy. The winners for best Italian SF published in various formats were selected by a panel of members from the World SF Italia club.
The following is a selected winners list with English title translations:
Best Novel: IL CASTELLO DI EYMERICH [Eymerich's Castle] by Valerio Evangelisti
Best Short Story: "La discesa interrotta dal rosa e dal blue" ["The Decision Between the Red and the Blue"] by Enrica Zunic
Best Essay: "Da '2001' al 2001" ["From 2001: the film, to 2001: the year"] by G.F. Pizzo, R. Chiavini and M. Tetro
Best Graphic Novel: I CUSTODI DEL MASER ["The Prisoners of Maser"] by Massimiliano Frezzato
Best Fan Short Story: "I battitori del crepuscolo" ["Blinks of the Eye"] by Domenico Gallo
Best Fan Essay: "Personaggi della fantascienza italiana" ["Who's Who of Science Fiction"] by A. Jarok and L. Kremo
