GLADIATOR director chooses his next project

Even though he hasn't finished filming his next movie, director Ridley Scott has already settled on what his project after the present one has wrapped will be. While Scott continues to shoot KINGDOM OF HEAVEN in Morocco, his next assignment will be creating the adaptation of A GOOD YEAR. The film is based on a forthcoming novel by Peter Mayle due to be published this coming June. Marc Klein (SERENDIPITY) will adapt Mayle's book into a screenplay.

The novel tells the story about a London banker who changes his life after he inherits a vineyard in Provence. Trouble arises when an American woman shows up to also claim ownership of the property. The project is being developed by Fox 2000.
