It's Showtime for MEADOWLANDS

On Sunday June 17th Showtime will premiere the first epidsod of their dark, unpredictable and mysterious eight-part series MEADOWLANDS, which focuses on the Brogan family who are trying to escape their past while confronting an even more uncertain future.

The series picks up as Danny (David Morrissey) and Evelyn Brogan (Lucy Cohu) along with their two teenage kids, Zoe (Felicity Jones) and Mark (Harry Treadway), enter a witness protection program and are moved to a bucolic neighborhood called MEADOWLANDS to begin a new life. Picturesque and crime-free, MEADOWLANDS appears to be a suburban paradise where the Brogan family can begin to start a new life. But they soon realize that it’s not so easy to escape the past and their safe haven becomes a world of paranoia and intrigue with surprises around every corner. The psychologically gripping thriller explores the nature of identity and memory – asking if anyone can ever really wipe the slate clean. Filmed entirely on location around Maidstone, in the English county of Kent, the series stars David Morrissey, Lucy Cohu, Felicity Jones, Harry Treadaway, Ralph Brown, Nina Sosanya, Melanie Hill and Tom Hardy.

MEADOWLANDS is produced by Ecosse Films and was created by Ecosse's Head of Television Development Matthew Alridge and written Robert Murphy. It is executive produced by Douglas Rae and Alridge and co-produced by Caroline Levy. Duane Clark directed the first episode.

“At its heart MEADOWLANDS is a thriller concerning an unfolding saga of a community and its greater purpose, remarks co-producer Caroline Levy. It’s also a family drama; the Brogans arrive with this new identity having left tragedy, and they’re in a new home, a new world and it’s a brand new them. They have to learn how to adapt. The question is can they? Meadowlands isn’t a gated community, what keeps them there is the fear that someone will find out where they are and will try and kill them. So, as they begin to understand the world, their neighbors and the reasons why they are there, they start to realize a fundamental fact: they haven’t been brought to Heaven - but to Hell.”

I might take a look at this if I get some time, might be interesting. Good enough to get me to order Showtime? We'll see; I'm still smarting from the cancellation of Odyssey 5...

Sounds like a cool show, but I am wary. I was just getting into Drive when it was yanked away,,,,,I hate that. Although, this is Showtime, not network TV, and only 8 episodes, so I may check it out.
