The Hollywood Reporter tells us that Hugh Jackman's next comics adaptation won't be a superhero book, but rather an adaptation of Doug Tenappel's upcoming graphic novel 'Ghostopolis'. The film is set up at Disney with Jackman producing.

Jackman will play an agent of the Supernatural Immigration Task Force (which sounds to us like the Men in Black, but for ghosts), who keeps ghosts from entering our world. When a living child accidentally is sent to the Ghostopolis, the agent must team with a female ghost (and former girlfriend) to bring him back.

Tenappel may be best known as the creator of Earthworm Jim, but has been a prolific generator wildly imaginative graphic novels, such as 'Creature Tech' and 'Monster Zoo', both of which are in development as films.

Thanks to Antonello Blueberry for the submission.

This will bomb as all Jackman's films do except for when he has claws.

Doesn't sound all that exciting to me but a good trailer and more info can change that.

I don't know about all Jackman's films being bombs. As I recall both Swordfish and Van Helsing did well over a $100 million worldwide and I seem to recall Australia doing over $200 Million worldwide. But considering the films he's chosen, it isn't surprising his films haven't been blockbusters. Other than his "superhero" films, he hasn't really done blockbuster type material. If Ghostopolis is as good or better than Creature Tech though, I'd certainly give the story the benefit of the doubt. Get a solid director and good script, could be something really cool.

I think if he does the Christian Bale thing and keeps bringing out back to back movies he'll be alright....so since he's hot off Orgins and if production gets going on this maybe it will do ok.....but sounds like a PG version of MIB....

First thing it reminded me of was another Van Helsing type of movie.  Is Sommers doing this one too?
