Electronic Arts and James Bond have ended their relationship. MGM and EA had a deal which was supposed to run through at least 2010, but have instead decided to call it quits.
Activision is set to take the place of EA and become the publisher of one of the industry's most popular titles. The new deal with Activision is worth about $50 million and runs through 2014.
At the time EA and MGM first made their deal, Bond games were the industries most successful. Recently released titles have done relatively poorly.
Activision's first Bond game is expected to be released as a tie-in to the Casino Royale sequel, however, they do have the right to release a game unconnected to the films.
