James Coburn passes away, aged 74

CNN.com covers James Coburn's passing at 74 on Monday. He died of a heart attack while listening to music at home. The actor won a 1998 Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his work in the film AFFLICTION.

His first film role came in 1959's RIDE LONESOME and first gained widespread public note when he landed a role in THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, released the next year. Throughout the sixties he was a regular in such films as THE GREAT ESCAPE and the OUR MAN FLINT series.
