James McAvoy has signed on to star in the upcoming Universal Pictures film WANTED. The film will be directed by Russian director Timur Bekmambetov.

The sci-fi action film will follow a put-upon young man who discovers that his long-lost father is an assassin. After his dad is murdered, the son is recruited into a covert organization of killers and trained to follow in his father's footsteps.

WANTED is based on a Top Cow comic book which is considered hard-core and thus you can expect the film to be rated R.

Mr. Tumnus is an assasin? The walden book people aren't going to like that.

Very nice. I like this comic book. I hope the movie fairs well.

LOL!!! "Mr. Tumnus, why are you holding a glock to my head?"

This comic ruled and I can only hope the production company doesn't foul this one up. I wonder who they'll pick for Fox, Professor, Mr Rictus, and Shithead (which would be weird but interesting).

Wasn't Eminem rumored to be up for this part? I see the progression - Slim Shady to... Mr. Tumnus?

I think Night Watch showed a great director in the making, so I'm looking forward to this one. Never read the comic, but I like the premise. Sounds a little like Alias to me.

The writer, Mark Millar, wanted to cast eminem but he balked at it (well really his management). The character is drawn to resemble eminem, the Fox looks like Halle Berry, his father resembles Tommy Lee Jones. A cool read nonetheless. And I loved "Nightwatch" so this has some serious promise.

Screw Walden books, they don't have him for anymore of the movies acording to him, so he can do what ever the hell he wants.
