6th time now I'm trying to save a freaking comment...

It was a nice interview and can't wait for this bluray.

You know, what would have made sense?  Releasing this film before the 4th of July.  Hello?  Fan base here.

With that said, I must own Raiders (not the others, just that one film.  Let's all be honest, the others were dissapointements.  Raiders is the only true classic of the bunch) and Jaws on Blu.

I haven't spotted it yet, but does anyone know if they have a original theatrcial release of Blade Runner on Blu?   Just that film.  I'm not a big fan of all the other cuts.  I like the original and Ford's voice over.

I'll wait till it hits the five dollar bin at walmart.  It's nuts the prices they charge for 40 year old movies.

Inner, they discontinued the Balde Runner bluray in favor the annivers edition coming out this year but you can still get it on ebay. 25 bucks will get you all the cuts, not just the original but I think they sold it as a seperate movie as well.

The 4th would have made sense, but next week is also the 25th anniversary of Shark Week on Discovery Channel, so this makes sense too.

Jaws is one of my all time favourites. I've been waiting for this release. Normally I would agree with hobbs but if the movie is worth it I'll bite. Plus the last one I bought was the anniversary edition from early 2000's so I'm due for a new copy.

Hobbs:  Thank you.

I have looked all over, but I can't find a copy of "original theatrical cut" blu-ray of Blade Runner.  I know that there is a total of seven released cuts.  I don't want the anniversary multiple edition, the director's cut or the final cut...I simply want the original cut.  Is that really too much to ask?

I assume I'll be able to buy Raiders without the excess baggage of the sequels.  I the whole series on DVD.

I understand that they love to jack the price up by including a digital copy, a DVD and the Blu.  But why?  Why would I want them?  Why is it so damn confusing to simply buy a blu-ray without all the other films and extras?  Frustrating.

Also, notice, when you look at reviews of the Blu-Rays, they rarely compare them to the DVD.  Is it worth the upgrade?  Is the picture better (exception:  Jaws)?  I know all of us probably have vast DVD collections and it would help, in a review, if they informed us if it was worth it to fork down the extra bucks to own a film I already own.  I don't care about extras.  Most of the Blu-rays contain the same extras as the DVD.  I rarely listen to the voice track and never have finished one.  I have watched a couple of production extras, but most of them are a drag (it only interests me if it is a classic.)

I'm curious what others think....

We try and do the comparioson here on Mania. Especially for older films/ classic. I'll do it for Jaws come Tuesday!
