JERSEY DEVIL sneaks to screen

PUBLISHER'S WEEKLY covers regional horror film 13TH CHILD: LEGEND OF THE JERSEY DEVIL, VOLUME I, which debuted on Halloween on 50 screens in the Northeast, the center of the legend the film explores.

The film, which was co-written by star Cliff Robertson with Michael Maryk, also features Robert Guillaume. It's based on the 26-year-old THE JERSEY DEVIL, a book by James F. McCloy and Ray Miller Jr., which has sold well since publication in the region most familiar with the myth.

The filmmakers are seeking national distribution, and the book has benefited from increased interest in the wake of the regional film release.
