Joel Silver Plans ALTERED CARBON

MATRIX Producer to Bring New SF Thriller to the Screen

Legendary producer Joel Silver and GHOST SHIP screenwriter John Pogue spoke about their proposed adaptation of the upcoming SF novel ALTERED CARBON. The book, a twenty-fifth century hardcore cyberpunk detective thriller by first time British author Richard K Morgan, has already been released in the UK to rave reviews.

"I found the book while at the London book faire," says Pogue. "I couldn't believe what a great find it was. Its hardboiled. Its edgy. It has a whole new take on issues of immortality. As soon as I read it I knew I wanted to do something with it so I brought it straight to Joel."

"That was John's find," agrees Silver. "I totally credit him with discovering this great material. I'm really looking forward to working with the book."

The US edition of ALTERED CARBON will hit US bookshelves in March 2003 thanks to SF publisher Del Rey.
