I dug this flick. So what if it did take liberties with the story. The X-Men movies have always tried to be based in reality and to have the exact comic book story translated to the screen would have been ridiculously corny and stupid. Take the Phoenix for example, in the comic, doesn't she acquire those powers after a space trip? It reads fine in the comic but to translate that to a movie would have been disasterous. Same with Professor X and his wheelchair. Wasn't he paralyzed in a fight on some other planet? Not very realistic even for a fantasy film such as this.
