I don't think DC needs to copy anyone or get itchy because Marvel is shining at the moment. Haters just might find their foots in their mouths about DC.

I didn't see or hear nearly as many complaints about that travesty that was Transformers: Dark of the Moon. I didn't see it, but I could've told you it would suck. Audiences are such a funny, fickle sort. You really just never know.

Green Lantern was a great, relevant story about a guy trying to find his confidence. Sure, there were some things I could've done without. But it was a worthwhile movie. Bring on part 2! I want to see Mark Strong toe down as Sinestro.

 Green Lantern could easily be the most fixable movie of all time.  If they can't figure it out, then they need to go back to school.  I'm sure there are some good comments already made about how to fix this baby.  So, I hope they're listening out there.

 Who gives a rip if it is a DC or Marvel movie.  GL was just bad.  I've really enjoyed the Batman flicks by Nolan, so I'm a little confused where people are taking sides.  Marvel has had its share of bombs too.  Ryan was in both the lackluster Blade 3 and the appauling Wolverine.  Not his fault, but he might need to stick to romantic comedies.  Marvel also produced some bad Punisher movies.  That said, I just appreciate a good film...I could care less which mega company owns the rights to a guy in spandex.  

Funny how the DC toon movies lines are better than the live action.  And opposite for Marvel. 

Reynolds was not the problem here, I thought he did fine in the role.  But when you have pacing problems that are as bad as this movie had you are in trouble.  Also, having a one dimensional villian ala Howard the Duck does not help either.  Peter Saarsgard is a good actor if you actually give him a script that requires him to act.  The story was bad, plain and simple.

The origin movie would have been served better without the Hector Hammond storyline. It should have dealt with Hal becoming GL and battling Sinestro who had turned rogue and killed Abin Sur. Hal defeats Sinestro with the green ring only to have Sinestro discover the yellow ring. Something like that.

I'd like to see a sequel now that Sinestro has begun the walk down the bad guy path. That would be a much better movie than the awful one we got. Also, put Hal in the classic GL costume. Changes just for change, so the director/producer can put their stamp on the film, is wrong.

Really? Wolverine VS Hulk. Hulk VS Thor. Both of those kicked ass. Very adult in nature and were perfect adaptations of the comic book characters.

Also, Avengers: Earth Mightiest Hero's. That is the best Comic.Cartoon series ever made next to the 90's Spider-man series.

axia I'd agree with your last comment except that even though I love Marvel a bit more than DC, Batman TAS is IMHO the greatest comic book character cartoon series ever, EVER, bar none. Inspired by my favorite Batman film too, that being Burton's Batman.

Then I could see AEMH and Justice League neck and neck, after that we can debate all day :)

I think another GL movie is financially a stupid idea.  The first GL was always going to suffer as it only has a select fan base within the general public... His name simply isn't  as well known as the superman, batman, x-men, spiderman etc...  I had no one to go with.  Everyone I knew who saw the trailer was like, 'who is green lantern?  what a gay name!'  The fact it was a mediocre movie has all but buried it now.(like what they did to dragonball, so sad)  IMO, justice league is the only way to bring him back.  Renolds should have been the flash.  The black GL seen in the recent JLU animated cartoons would have been more popular with broader audiences.  So far hancock is the only superhero movie i've seen with black lead actor & I think that it worked nicely...

Superman, Batman, Xmen and Spiderman have all had successful movies in the past that helped elevate them to the level you know today. X-men wasnt known to the general public either before the Xmen movie franchise. It was popular to those who read comics .

Despite the GL movie being WAY short of its potential, its name still got out there to a broader audience. THIS is EXACTLY how characters BECOME well known. Now the animation series will elevate the mythology. Then anywhere from 5-15 years green lantern will be just as well known.
