One of my favorite flicks to watch as a kid. They better have a giant chicken, giant bees and some reference to Civil War relics in a cave.

New Line and director Brad Peyton have found a new action star to be paired up with Josh Hutcherson in Journey 2: Mysterious Island, a sequel to their 2008 remake Journey to the Center of the Earth. Months after Brendan Fraser had to opt out due to schedule conflicts, Heat Vision reports the studio is closing in on a deal with Dwayne Johnson to take over the headline role. With production scheduled for a late October start in North Carolina and Hawaii, three more incoming characters will be cast these next few weeks.
Plot Concept: Loosely based on Jules Verne's "The Mysterious Island," Johnson will play the boyfriend of Hutcherson's mom, who Hutcherson is forced to bring on a trip to a mythical and monstrous island to find his missing grandfather. Like the first installment, the sequel will be shot and released in 3D.
Journey 2: Mysterious Island is set to hit 3D/2D/IMAX theaters September 23, 2011.

"Scheduling conflicts" HA!
I'm sure Furry Vengeance was really taxing his time....
I think Frasier had to schedule some gym time to work off all the weight he put on when he made Fatass..er..sorry...Furry Vengeance, especially if he wants to be in any condition for the planned Mummy sequel..Rise of the Aztec
I really enjoyed this so I'm looking forward to the sequel. Not everything needs to be dark and gritty, some innocent family adventure is good for everyone.
