Nolan's Gotham sucked balls

Whose balls?

Ummm, shouldn't he be the Red Hood and not the Joker in this series?  (I suppose that is what Bob was referring to in his tagline).  That would actually be kind of cool if they did that, but they won't go that route.  Joe Public would have no idea that the guy in the hood ends up being the Clown Prince of Crime.

I agree with wise, Nolan's Gotham looked like Any City, USA.  There was nothing that made it feel like Gotham City.  But it was grounded and all dark and gritty which is all that DC/WB care about.

Honestly, I'd rather have it look like Any City, USA than perpetually stuck in the 40's on the darkest night imaginable.  I guess I'm just not a true Batman comic book fan.

Tim Burton's Gotham was awesome.  He's a weird/hokey director but his gotham was cool.

Burton's Gotham was cool but only about 2 city blocks per movie, used over and over again in most shots.

I want giant statues and neon colors up in this beeyotch.  That's the one true Gotham.

Nolan's movies were not good after Batman Begins.  Ledger's Joker was phenominal, but the movie was not good IMO.  I just feel like comic book movies should have watchability that makes you want to see it more than once.  Never felt that way with TDK, TDKR, X3, Wolverine Origins.  That being said, this series looks intriguing to me.

Enjoyed Nolan's Batman movies.  IMO more intelligent, more adult, more intense, better written (broaching some real issues)  and better acted than any of the Disney Super Hero movies which I thought were much lighter and family oriented.

I only watched The Avengers once.  My little grandsons loved it but I wasn't thrilled with the jocularity or the lack of any real dramatic tension.  The Chitauri were pathetic.  It was like watching the New York Yankees play a AA Minor League team.  At no point did I think the good guys were in any danger of getting a scratch let alone losing to the bad guys (I'm talking about the Super Heroes...not Coulson's antiseptic demise).

I doubt that Gotham will be a dark show.  I expect like MAoS they'll stick it in the 8 PM time slot, and keep it light, clean, cute and fuzzy (nothing deep or controversial, no sex references or graphic violence) so they can attract kids as well as fanboys.
