the question isnt why are they making videogame movies,its why have all the videogame movies sucked. its because of a lack of respect for the material just like comic book movies were getting no respect 10 years ago. we need a huge VG movie hit for hollywood to take it for real, plus uwe boll should be banned from every movie studio for the rest of his life. plus as much as i love videogames, comics, and anime etc... i wish hollywood would stop the adaptation and remake craze and come up with some original ideas

I think you are all being optimistic they probally will air the pilot and then schedule it for differnet night each week so it cant get a steady audience and then cancel it, but thats pretty much par on course for fox, but who knows maybe will get lucky and get a decent run look at buffy and angel nobody thought those would last is my bet, either way i will be watching!

first off let me say i loved both versions of the thing. In my mind they are two completly different movies like night and day. So i dont consider the 1982 version a ripoff remake like hollywood seems to love these days. Next i would love to see a sequel to the thing by carpenter "also a sequel to Big Trouble little china would be great" however i dont think Russell oe David should come back because in my mind they died at the end of the movie, what they could do is have a new cast come into the destroyed base and one of them gets infected that would be cool. Finally i agree that this movie sounds like a ripoff of the thing but ill probally end up seeing it just like you all will too. Hopefully it will be a good ripoff:)
