Since their recent debut as the BATMAN creative team, writer Jeph Loeb and artist Jim Lee have received nothing but praise for their take on the Dark Knight. Their 12-issue story arc "Hush" now hits the halfway point with #614, offering the Loeb/Lee take on the relationship between Batman and his archenemy, the Joker. Loeb is thrilled that fans have gone along for the ride.
"Being #1 for a sustained period is very gratifying," says Loeb. "The naked truth is that neither Jim or I need to do this story we do it out of love for the characters."
With "Hush," Loeb continues a pattern of offering yearlong Bat-story arcs, as with 1996-97's maxiseries BATMAN: THE LONG HALLOWEEN. For Loeb, the 12-issue limit gives fans the best possible reading experience.
