First Trailer for LOST BOYS 2 - Mar 14, 2008 - 11:34am
I guess that I will be the only one renting this when it comes out. I'm sold on the movie. Not only does it have the two Coreys in it but it also stars Angus Sutherland, Kiefer's brother (He's the dude with the long blonde hair). The music track is Cry Little Sister by Gerard McMann (He now goes by G Tom Mac for some strange reason, not sure if Sisters of Mercy did the song or not but McMann did it for Lost Boys). The only thing missing is that it wasn't filmed in Santa Cruz. As far as the mutated face of the vampire, again, check out the first one. Alex Winter's make up was the funniest looking. Keifer's wasn't so bad though.

Pixar's Brad Bird Takes on 1906 Earthquake - Mar 14, 2008 - 11:07am
mlaforcer, yeah, he's a really nice guy. He's one of the "experts" on the 1906 earthquake here in SF. I guess he has to be for the book. This is great, though, I'm happy for him.

Pixar's Brad Bird Takes on 1906 Earthquake - Mar 13, 2008 - 10:40am
It's cool to see this article. James Dalessandro wrote the book, he was my screenwriting instructor. He was pretty worried about the writer's strike affecting his book getting made. It's cool to see that it's going forward.

First HULK Teaser Trailer Online - Mar 12, 2008 - 04:56pm
I can't say that I'm too impressed with the trailer. I'll have to wait and see more before I get excited about this film. To me, Hulk looked better in Ang Lee's film. I enjoyed the trailer for Lost Boys The Tribe on MTV.com much more than the Hulk trailer. I'll definitely check that movie out. I loved the Cry Little Sister track they used. Good memories.

Ellen Page Dragged into Raimi's HELL - Feb 10, 2008 - 04:12pm
She was great in Juno and in Hard Candy. She is definitely a good actress. I wouldn't mind seeing her win for Juno. Academy Awards are given, in most cases, for specific things not for careers.

Kodi McPhee Hits THE ROAD With Viggo - Feb 06, 2008 - 11:10am
I just finished this book, it should be an amazing film. I love the cast so far. It's being directed by John Hillcoat, who directed The Proposition, another great film.

Marvel Comics vs Science: The 5 Most Absurd Superhero Origins - Jan 20, 2008 - 11:01pm
Is it just me or did the writer seem to get bored with his own article? It seems like he got bored with it and just cut it off.

CLOVERFIELD Monster Attacks January Records - Jan 20, 2008 - 03:23pm
I saw the film on Friday night and I really liked it. There seems to be so much in the film that I think it definately requires me to see it a second time. The movie was a lot of fun. I saw it with a group of about eight people and we all loved it. I saw it in SF and everyone in the theatre seemed to enjoy the film. I think the only peole justified in seeing it and not liking it are the people that knew nothing of the film and that suffers from severe motion sickness. The only problem that I found with the movie was that some of the dialogue and situations seemed a bit forced but it didn't bother me after the party. I saw There Will Be Blood the next morning and while I really liked it and found Daniel Day Lewis to be fascinating, I had a lot more fun watching Cloverfield.

Zodiac-The Director's Cut 2-Disc Edition - Jan 08, 2008 - 10:42pm
I loved this film, they filmed some of it right outside my apartment in SF. Fincher is a great director. The DVDs for Seven and Fight Club are top notch, this is a good one to add to the collection.

Weta Workshop Handling JLA Costumes - Jan 07, 2008 - 11:45am
"George Miller has a great take on the material, so it elevates it to something that's not a comic-book movie," he said. Hmm... isn't this a comic book movie? If so, what is wrong with that? This comic seems like he thinks that it needs to be something other than what it is. I just finished reading I Am Legend and I can't help thinking about all of the changes that were made in the movie, which was just about everything. The title didn't even make sense. Why would people take books, comics, cartoons or TV shows, adapt them to a movie that is so much different from the original source that it no longer resembles it? Maybe that isn't happening with this, I don't know. My point is, JLA is a comic book so the movie is a comic book movie and there is nothing wrong with that. I can't understand that comment...

Alexander Updates on PUNISHER:WAR ZONE - Dec 30, 2007 - 09:55pm
Yeah, and after the Moon Knight film, they could do a films about Night Thrasher, Nomad and Cloak and Dagger.

Mitra Deals With Loss in BOY IN THE BOX - Dec 18, 2007 - 03:17pm
I've really liked her since I saw her on the last season of The Practice. She also moved on to Boston Legal with James Spader but I stopped following that show shortly after it began. I liked her in Highwaymen.

AUSTRALIA Wraps, Jackman Ready for WOLVERINE - Dec 18, 2007 - 03:13pm
While I am looking forward to the Wolverine movie, I must say that I am looking forward to the new Baz Luhrmann film. I really liked his previous films that I've seen. He has an amazing production designer, Catherine Martin.

New Photo for WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE - Dec 13, 2007 - 04:22am
I love the work from Spike Jonze. I think the film looks pretty goodl from the two pics that have been released. I can't wait for a trailer.

METROPOLIS Remake On the Horizon - Dec 12, 2007 - 12:53am
... I mean Kino Video...

WGA Strike Talks Collapse - Dec 11, 2007 - 09:45pm
Writers get about 25,000 anytime one of their shows gets played in syndication (that is a little less than they get for their initial work). They only get about 250 dollars a year for the use of their show for new media, that's a big difference between what they are being paid for syndication and then what they are being paid for new media.

METROPOLIS Remake On the Horizon - Dec 10, 2007 - 10:17pm
This was supposedly Hitler's favorite film. I watched it not too long ago. You can definately see some of its influence on The Fifth Element. While I respect the movie and what it means for the history of film, I found it difficult to watch. I saw the version released by Rhino and a silent two hour long movie that is missing some segments was pretty difficult to sit through. I'm not sure what I think about the remake, it doesn't really bother me but a large part of what made the film so significant was due to the events taking place in Germany and the world for that matter. I'm not sure how that will translate to the present day.

PUNISHER:WAR ZONE Director Answers Fan Questions - Dec 10, 2007 - 10:07pm
People comparing Ray Stevenson to Steven Segal should do themselves a favor and watch Rome. This guy was great on that show. I thought the first film was okay but I am watching the new one just because of Stevenson.

More Set Photos for The WATCHMEN - Nov 27, 2007 - 01:01am
I think this all looks really good. I'm really looking forward to this film. It has an interesting cast...

Sienna Miller Fights Against G.I JOE - Nov 20, 2007 - 09:39pm
Wow, this is a stupid and pointless thread...

Knepper Battles With WOLVERINE? - Nov 20, 2007 - 04:58pm
I was thinking Maverick as well. What about Omega Red? I'm not sure where he is in the Wolverine story but he was always one of my favorite villains. For Sabertooth, I think Clancy Brown would be a great fit.

THOR Delayed Until Strike Ends - Nov 20, 2007 - 01:09am
I thought Kevin McKidd was playing Thor. I guess it was just a rumor. Too bad, he was a good match and he's a good actor.

Sienna Miller Fights Against G.I JOE - Nov 20, 2007 - 12:26am
Seems okay to me. I really liked her in Layer Cake...

Knepper Battles With WOLVERINE? - Nov 20, 2007 - 12:25am
Awesome. I love this guy. He was great in Carnivale as Tommy Dolan and he is great as T-Bag. I'm interested to see who he will play.

BEOWULF Wins B.O. Battle - Nov 19, 2007 - 01:22am
I saw it in 3D on Saturday, I thought that the animation and 3D was a bit distracting. I was a bit disappointed. The movie to see right now is the Coen brothers film, No Country For Old Men. That was a great film.

HEROES: Four Months Ago - Nov 14, 2007 - 12:43am
The only thing I find myself wondering is why doesn't Hiro just jump back into the future moments after he disappears. With his ability, just because he disappears and is gone for four months, it doesn't mean that he has to return four months later. That seems kind of dumb.

Matt Frewer Joins WATCHMEN - Nov 13, 2007 - 10:32pm
I hope that they don't leave out the neat things the book had such as the pirate comic. That added a lot of subtext to the piece.

Matt Frewer Joins WATCHMEN - Nov 13, 2007 - 10:23pm
Moloch was a former enemy of the Minutemen. Rorschach visits his home a couple of times to get some info. He had pointy ears and used to act as a magician.

2007 EMMY Winners - Sep 17, 2007 - 12:48pm
I agree, I was really shocked to see how the show was ignored.

Update: Considine Doesn't Wants PUNISHER 2 Dead - Sep 15, 2007 - 06:01pm
I'm pretty familiar with Considine. His film "Dead Man's Shoes" (yes, that is what the pic is from) is easily one of my favorite films, it's a must see film that many have never even heard of. I'm more impressed with this film with Ray Stevenson and Paddy Considine attatched than I was with the first Punisher film altogether. Two strong actors for the two lead roles, this film should be really good.

Kosinski Directing TRON Sequel - Sep 12, 2007 - 12:27am
Isn't Nathan Fillion supposed to be in this?

HALLOWEEN Slashes Labor Day Record - Sep 03, 2007 - 09:37pm
For those of you that live in larger cities, check out the local independent theatres, you might be suprised at what they play. I live in San Francisco and we have the Castro Theatre. This month alone, they are playing films such as The Exorcist, The French Connection, To Live and Die in LA, Ghostbusters and a double feature of Total Recall and Terminator 2. It's awesome to see some of those films on the big screen!

HALLOWEEN Slashes Labor Day Record - Sep 02, 2007 - 08:58pm
I saw it on Friday, I liked all of it except the lead actress and her friends. Other than that, it's my second favorite film by Zombie (Rejects was great). Everyone at the theatre I saw it at seemed to really like it, they clapped at the end. There were a lot of screams through out the movie and contrary to some reviews I had read, I thought Zombie did a good job at building tension and not relying on gore. I thought it was good overall. In my opinion, if you even paid money to see Balls of Fury any opinion you might have on film is worthless. The movie to see in theatres right now is the documentary The King of Kong. Now that's a great film!

Details of JJ Abrams' 1-18-08 Emerge - Sep 01, 2007 - 01:32pm
Isn't Nathan Fillion in this? If not, he should be. He's amazing!!! I'll be sure to see this, like the idea behind the marketing, it's alot different from what we usually get. I'm also a fan of Abrams, although he is just producing this, I'll see this opening weekend.

Bale says 'No' to JLA Movie - Aug 21, 2007 - 06:01pm
Hmm... Nathan Fillion? He's another Treat Williams if you ask me. I thought he was okay in Serenity, Slither and on Drive. He's definately not even in the same field of quality of acting that Bale is.

Anti-Religion Not in GOLDEN COMPASS - Aug 21, 2007 - 01:07pm
I don't think it's an issue of people not being able to include what they want, it's an issue of people weighing the feedback for what they include. Christians would have every right to be upset about the "anti-religious" things in the film just as everyone that would be uspet about it being taken out would be justified. Not sure if that made sense. I do agree though, if you don't like the source material, don't do it. Don't compromise the work or yourself. It was popular for a reason and already has an audience, that audience that loved the book probably won't like changes to it. I usually think books are ruined but two books that I really liked, Fight Club and Stardust were changed quite a bit and worked very well. It's best to wait until the movie is released.

Rose McGowan Strapping Leather in BARBARELLA? - Aug 20, 2007 - 07:25pm
As for your 7 points, point 1 isn't necessarily being denied, points 4-7 don't mean anything points 2 and 3 aren't correct. Before Grindhouse even began production, the Weinsteins already knew that Rodriguez and Avellan were already seperted but were going to work on the film together. Everything else that you put was just specualtion. Reasons for Grindhouse's problems at the box office are many and have been discussed at great lengths on this site when the movie came out. I don't even think the situation with Rodriguez and his wife was even a reason that was mentioned. I understand that at your age, getting the last word is important so you can have it, I'm out.

Update on Warner Bros' JLA Movie - Aug 20, 2007 - 01:03am
For some reason, I'm just not sure that they will be able to get Bale involved in an ensemble film where he won't be THE hero. I could be wrong but I doubt he would do that at this point in his career.

Rose McGowan Strapping Leather in BARBARELLA? - Aug 20, 2007 - 01:00am
By the way, I'm at least quoting a particular source, you should try it.

Rose McGowan Strapping Leather in BARBARELLA? - Aug 20, 2007 - 01:00am
I'm just wondering when your speculation and rumors became fact. If I'm given a choice over what you have heard or your personal specualtion and a press release from the two relevant parties, I'll take the press release.

Rose McGowan Strapping Leather in BARBARELLA? - Aug 20, 2007 - 12:12am
I guess you can speculate all you want but according to their (Robert and Elizabeth) spokesperson, "The hiatus during the production of Grindhouse had nothing to do with Robert's personal life. On April 10, 2006, after shooting for 5 weeks, Robert completed principal photography of the first phase of his segment of Grindhouse. He took a hiatus from shooting to assemble the footage he had already shot and determine his next steps in the production, which is the same successful approach he utilized with Sin City when he shot the film in two parts."

Update on Warner Bros' JLA Movie - Aug 20, 2007 - 12:08am
It would be smart to try and secure Bale for JLA with the 3 film contract. I would think he would be more likely to go for another Nolan Batman film rather than an ensemble film. Although I like him, Routh is probably just hoping that they don't recast, he would probably pay them to let him be in it.

Rose McGowan Strapping Leather in BARBARELLA? - Aug 19, 2007 - 05:41pm
You can calm down, metalwater. No need to get upset and worked up. Only one exclamation mark is necessary, three can make you an asshole. It's like typing in all caps. The info you placed seems somewhat correct, there's a bit that seems like something that might have been read in US Weekly. According to their (both Robert and Elizabeth) publicist, they were seperated before Grindhouse even began production. They are still working together on future projects (Sin City 2). The comment that I was referring to was "Please stop hiring your girlfriends for film leads." He hasn't necessarily ever done that. Even taking the consideration that he might have had a relationship with McGowen before Grindhouse, that would only make it once that he had done that. That hardly makes it something that he does a lot.

Rose McGowan Strapping Leather in BARBARELLA? - Aug 19, 2007 - 03:19pm
I'm a big fan of Rodriguez but I'm not to excited or interested with this film yet. I'll have to wait and see. He's a smart director. Just a little info, Rodriguez has been married since he started work as a director, he has only recently seperated from his wife and producer. It seems as though Rodriguez and McGowen might have had something going but he hardly hires his girlfriends to star in his films.

JOHN FROM CINCINNATI: His Visit: Day Nine - Aug 18, 2007 - 05:04pm
It's called Flight of the Conchords, and I think it's genious. I'm having a hard time getting into JFC. I've watched the first two episodes and have the rest on my DVR. The news that it got cancelled makes me even more reluctant to finish it. HBO has great programming. They've given us shows like The Sopranos, Carnivale, Six Feet Under, Extras, Flight of the Conchords, Entourage, Rome, Big Love and Deadwood. Although they screwed us over with Carnivale, it can't really be said that they don't provide good programming. Back to JFC, I did like the second half of the second episode, I like the cast but it feels like nothing is really happening, it just wanders.

THE INVASION - Aug 18, 2007 - 04:54pm
I saw this yesterday and I think your review is right on. I still enjoyed it regardless of the fact that it didn't all come together in the end. I think it did a great job of creating and carrying tension and I think Craig is a great actor so it's always good to see him.

Katie Holmes as WONDER WOMAN? - Aug 18, 2007 - 04:51pm
http://www.iesb.net/index.php?option=com_alphacontent§ion=8&cat=21&task=view&id=3068&Itemid=75 According to IESB, their sources at WB are saying, "that this story is total bullshit, no truth whatsoever". I don't think it will happen.

Kevin McKidd As The New THOR? - Aug 15, 2007 - 12:25pm
I've always wondered who would make a good Thor. Whenever I read this, I thought, "Okay, he would be great." I'll take a great actor over a wrestler who is just physically bigger any day.

Slade to Helm Gaiman's NEVERWHERE - Aug 13, 2007 - 11:15pm
Merin, I have to agree. Danes did great, she was beautiful and it was great to see her on the big screen. It seems forever since I've seen her in something, especially on the big screen.

Slade to Helm Gaiman's NEVERWHERE - Aug 13, 2007 - 11:12pm
I have to disagree with you metalwater. Not sure if Whedon would be the best choice. 30 Days of Night hasn't been released yet but it looks great, Hard Candy was a solid film. I think Stardust's problem was the marketing. It's genre and plot is difficult to place. The cast was perfect and the release date was a good choice for summer releases. I'd rather go against Rush Hour 3 than Transformers. 3-D, ehh... I think Johnny Depp is overrated for the most part, he would just do another variation of his Hunter S. Thompson performance. I think Shia does okay but he is in tons of movies, I'm getting tired of him already. Just because they are popular doesn't mean they are right for every role. The movie, although it varied from the source material quite a bit, captured the spirit of the book perfectly. 3-D and the actors we've already seen in 10 movies this year (I know I'm exagerating a bit) would only detract from what the film was and needed to be.

Slade to Helm Gaiman's NEVERWHERE - Aug 13, 2007 - 09:08pm
The story is strangely like Alice in Wonderland except instead of Alice we get a guy in his late 20's or early 30's and instead of Wonderland we get this underworld of London. I can't say that I was a big fan of the TV mini-series, I did like the cast especially Paterson Joseph who played The Marquis De Carabas. I do wan't to read the book though. I'm hoping for an American Gods film. Ian McShane as Mr. Wednesday?

Slade to Helm Gaiman's NEVERWHERE - Aug 13, 2007 - 06:11pm
I love Gaiman's work and I loved Stardust! I saw the TV version of Neverwhere that came out several years ago, the quality was pretty bad but the story was pretty good. It seems, and I might be wrong but I feel pretty sure, that it was originally written as a miniseries and then the book was adapted from that. I'm looking forward to this.

STARDUST - Aug 10, 2007 - 10:59pm
Stardust was great, I just hated that when I was leaving the theatre there was a huge line for Rush Hour 3. Too bad for them, their loss.

STARDUST - Aug 10, 2007 - 04:58pm
Wow, Matthew Vaughn and Neil Gaiman. That's enough talent to persuade me to see it. Ricky Gervais, Robert Deniro is just icing on the cake. I'm about to go see it, I'll probably catch Rush Hour 3 when it is out on DVD, although I like Chan, I'm not sure if I want to pay for the same jokes we've gotten in the previous movies.

Mortensen Joins Harris' APPALOOSA - Aug 07, 2007 - 02:59pm
The synopsis sounds a lot like Leone's Once Upon a Time In The West, probably the best western.

Official Cast for WATCHMEN - Jul 26, 2007 - 12:18am
I like Morgan well enough on Supernatural but I can't say I'm too thrilled about the casting in this film, everyone is too young with the exception of Haley. He is perfectly casted. This is a bit off subject but I'm sure they will post on here soon, they got Harold Perrineau (Michael) back for the next season of Lost!

Early Look at BEOWULF - Jul 25, 2007 - 01:08pm
Ray Winstone is a solid actor! He was amazing in The Proposition and in Sexy Beast. He's in great shape for this film, he has always been a bit bigger. I also want to see this for Crispin Glover.

Oxymandias Is Set for WATCHMEN - Jul 24, 2007 - 01:35pm
I think Bruce Campbell would be great for the Comedian. But they will probably cast someone in their early thirties for that part too.

Oxymandias Is Set for WATCHMEN - Jul 23, 2007 - 03:08pm
Wow, I'm kind of disappointed. These characters are a bit older, with the exception of Dr. Manhattan. I'll check this out but bad casting, IMO.

Del Toro Jumps to GUERRILLA - Jul 20, 2007 - 12:59pm
Hmmm, I thought Vinnie Chase and Billy Walsh was already doing the Pablo Escobar film....

Dr. Manhattan Cast in WATCHMEN? - Jul 10, 2007 - 03:47pm
I think the important thing is to find actors that are a bit older than Crudup. Manhattan hasn't aged so he is in his 30's. Characters like Ozymandias, Nite Owl and Silk Spectre (Laurie) are a little older.

Dr. Manhattan Cast in WATCHMEN? - Jul 09, 2007 - 05:38pm
I'm actually finishing Watchmen right now. I'm in a writing for comics course and it is part of the texts we must read. I think this is a great choice, it's definately better than Keanu which is all that I've heard. For the rest of the characters, they will have to find actors that are a bit older. Like Val Kilmer for Nite Owl or something.

HALLOWEEN Soundtrack Revealed - Jul 06, 2007 - 05:36pm
I'll definately buy this. The soundtrack for The Devils Rejects was amazing! I can't wait for this movie!

Sexton Gets LIFE - Jul 05, 2007 - 07:40pm
yeah, it was a great show. I'm glad it at least had a resolution of sorts, it got a better finish than Carnivale. The plot of this new show doesn't interest me much but I like this actor and the star, Damien Lewis is amazing. He was great in Band of Brothers.

Zaun, Bale Talk RESCUE DAWN - Jul 05, 2007 - 07:37pm
Herzog is one of my favorite directors. I got to see his film Wild Blue Yonder and here him speak. The man is amazing. If you don't know much about him, check him out. His work with Kinski is mind warping. The fact that he is directing this makes it a must see alone!

STARDUST…Is this movie still coming out? - Jun 12, 2007 - 04:54pm
I finished reading this book a while back and I really enjoyed it. From the trailer alone, this movie seems a lot different from the book. There seems to be some new characters and events. I hope it turns out well and I'll definitely check it out when it is released.

Man Could Face 3 for "24" Uploads - Jun 04, 2007 - 12:08am
Although the guy is an ass in general and I don't agree with his unethical and illegal actions, I'm not gonna nor did I turn him in. Not sure what kind of point your making...

Man Could Face 3 for "24" Uploads - Jun 03, 2007 - 09:27pm
Once again, a denial of the reality of the situation...

Pirates Sail to Top Spot Again - Jun 03, 2007 - 05:18pm
I, personally, don't have any problems with sequals or remakes. I saw POTC 3 on Friday and I thought it was the worst of the three. It was way too long and the plot was incredibly convaluted. Half of the time, I didn't even know what was going on or why. I must admit, I really didn't care much for the first one. I did really enjoy the second one. I was disappointed by the third, I think I liked Spiderman 3 better despite its faults.

Man Could Face 3 for "24" Uploads - Jun 03, 2007 - 01:01pm
I think its important to be a realist on this issue. Merin, we've debated this issue before. Sampling music, movies or TV shows is not what the majority does. Anyone that I know that actually illegally downloads these things don't do it to sample. They do it to own so they don't have to purchase. I actually know a guy who hasn't bought one DVD, he has downloaded them all and has a library of burned DVDs. Mellowdoux, I'm with you, if you ever find anyone, copying and then distributing your work for free, do what you can! Don't worry about some who want you to give your work away. There are always people who are more than happy to pay for it. I'm an aspiring filmmaker. That is what I have chosen to do to support myself and my family. If people rob me of oppurtunities to do that, than I have no problem suing them.

Man Could Face 3 for "24" Uploads - Jun 03, 2007 - 02:28am
I think three years is pretty harsh but maybe people should back off on pirating copyrighted material. It's simple, just don't do it. Pay for it or don't.

DAY WATCH - Jun 02, 2007 - 11:32pm
I thought Nightwatch's special effects were really good. I really enjoyed the first one, it was a mix of lots of genres and styles. I have been looking forward to seeing Daywatch but unfortunately (and strangely) it isn't showing anywhere here in San Francisco. I saw the first one on opening weekend here at the Metreon. I'm kind of bummed that I can't find this one.

First Look at Mach 5 from USA Today - May 31, 2007 - 06:42pm
I never watched the cartoon or was even a fan of the show but I'll be there opening weekend for this. The car looks sharp and Fox is in this.

It's HAPPENING for Deschanel - May 31, 2007 - 12:03am
I'm looking forward to this film, I know a lot of people don't like Shyamalan but who cares. I like Deschanel so this is good news.

ON THE LOT: 18 Comedy Short Films - May 30, 2007 - 03:23pm
I think one of the main problems with this weeks episode was the host, despite her looks, she was horrible. Kenny definitely should have been out of there. His film was a great example of style (if you want to call it that) and no substance. I wouldn't say the show is bad but I do think a B- is fair. I think Marty is talented and I liked his trailer but the fact remains, he didn't follow the assignment like everyone else did. I also agree that the judges are too nice. After Kenny's film, they should have let him have it.

Palahniuk on CHOKE & LULLABY - May 30, 2007 - 03:18pm
I think they reported a while back that Sam Rockwell was casted to play Victor. I think he would do a great job. I really liked Haunted, I agree that it would be a great mini-series for somethng like HBO. I'm definitely going to pick up Rant. I've read everything of his, even the non-fiction which were good as well. I think Diary would be really good too as a film. I would love to see Kelly Bishop (Emily Gilmore in Gilmore Girls) to play the mother in law, she has that nagging/insisting thing going really well on GG. I'm really looking forward to these projects.

Palahniuk on CHOKE & LULLABY - May 30, 2007 - 12:31am
Awesome! Can't wait. I think Lullaby is my favorite book of his. Has anyone read Rant yet? Any good?

Writer & Director Set for LAST HOUSE Remake - May 30, 2007 - 12:29am
It can't get much worse than the original. Wait, yes it can. If they include the same music and scenes with the cops getting outsmarted by the hilbillies.

ON THE LOT: 18 Comedy Short Films - May 30, 2007 - 12:28am
I really like the show so far. I'm a film student in SF so this show really appeals to me. It's funny, in so many film classes we have to take, we are always given assignments to pitch, before the class or before industry professionals. It's good to see how it could pay off. The shorts look great but concept wise are pretty standard for student short films. I really liked the trailer but, as said, it wasn't what was asked for. That's a big thing students do. If you did that professionally to a producer, it's a risk. You could loose the job.

Transformers…Novelized - May 29, 2007 - 12:32am
Anyone read Palahnuik's Rant yet? Any good?

Nolan to Shoot IMAX for KNIGHT - May 29, 2007 - 12:31am
Sweet, I'll be at the Metreon opening weekend for this.

CLONE WARS Preview - May 28, 2007 - 06:38pm
I just don't know what the big deal is. I tried to watch the animated clone wars but I just found it to be incredibly superficial. I liked the focus they put on some side characters but I thought it was way too juvinal.

BABYLON Promo Online - May 28, 2007 - 12:07am
I'll watch almost anything Cassel is in.

CLONE WARS Preview - May 28, 2007 - 12:03am
Ehhh, maybe if I was nine.

Warner, Silver set Their Marks on HE-MAN - May 24, 2007 - 05:28pm
Check this out: http://www.elbandersnatcho.com/downloads/Marko-Djurdjevic-He-Man.pdf If they do the movie they need to use this guy. I love his artwork, I saw it originally at a concept art website and he had a small story about each character which added a lot to each design. They need to use his designs and ideas for the story. That would make this movie amazing!

LOST: Through the Looking Glass - May 24, 2007 - 04:51pm
Of course, a great episode, probably the best episode Lost has ever had. I noticed a couple of things, not sure if they have already been addressed because there are too many long posts. I'll break this up. 1. Is Christian Shepard really dead, or is Jack in a drug induced stooper and not making any sense. 2. I think Jack is messed up because of one of two things, a) a lot of people died in order for a few to get off the island or b) a lot of people didn't get off the island and were left behind. People being left behind would make more sense because that would explain Jack's desire to go back and find the island (I assume that is what he is doing because of all of the maps in his apartment.) 3. Who died? Locke is a good assumption, but what about Michael? What if Walt found out about what his father had done? Maybe he wouldn't show up at his own father's funeral. After all, he killed several innocent people and put a lot of people in danger to get his son back. Not sure how this would sound but the neighborhood was predominantly black so that could add some validation to the argument. 4. I understand and hated to see Charlie sacrifice himself but he could have swam out of the port hole or since he had already deactivated the transmission blocker he could have gone outside the airlock instead of locking himself in. Sad to see him go in light of his recent story arc. 5. A lot of the main others died, Tom and the guy leading the raid party. What about Mikhail, what is his deal? He survived the fence, being shot in the chest by a harpoon, did he survive the grenade? 6. Who is coming to the island? Is Dharma coming back to the island to take back control? What if Dharma was using the island for a truly "evil" purpose and the others purged them for a truly "good" reason. Will the survivors have to team up with the others to stop the newcomers to the island? That future has to be definative. If it isn't, they can't show us any other future episodes because there will be no value to it because anything can be changed. It's sad to see that Jack survived the island but he might not survive surviving the island. It is good however to see that Kate is no longer a fugitive.

Warner, Silver set Their Marks on HE-MAN - May 23, 2007 - 09:46pm
I liked the 87 version as well. I think Frank Langella did a great job as Skeletor. I'm looking forward to this, I was disappointed when Woo shelved it. The hard part will be finding the perfect cast for He-man. I hope it all works out. With Transformers and this, all we need now is a Thundercats and GI Joe movie.

GOLDEN COMPASS Teaser - May 22, 2007 - 01:30pm
Some of that reminds me of the world in Steamboy, it's pretty cool looking.

The Sopranos: The Second Coming - May 22, 2007 - 01:12am
I loved seeing Tony go in to that restraunt and teach that guy a lesson in what happens when you mess with the family. Great episode, I feel like this season started too slowly. It will be interesting to see where it will end up.

Rodriguez Will Handle BARBARELLA - May 22, 2007 - 01:10am
While I like Lynch, if he did this film, it would wander for three hour and be incredibly ambiguous.

GOLDEN COMPASS Teaser - May 22, 2007 - 01:05am
I'm not familiar with the books but this seems pretty cool. I'll see it, I like the cast.

McQuarrie Goes Into NO MAN'S LAND - May 22, 2007 - 01:05am
I haven't heard a lot from him in quite some time. The Way of The Gun is a guilty favorite of mine and The Usual Suspects is an amazing film, I'll check this out just because he is connected to it.

Rodriguez Will Handle BARBARELLA - May 21, 2007 - 10:47pm
I actually fully agree with you Merin. I think you picked great examples from his work. I don't like his kid films but I understand why he makes them. I really don't even take them into consideration when I think about his work. He is one of the directors that I am usually looking forward to seeing his new projects.

A Look at Ledger as the Joker - May 21, 2007 - 11:55am
I really like this. It really fits with everything Nolan is trying to do with the Batman series. It's darker and creepier looking and he seems like a character that is a real threat. I think if he was the normal clown that we've seen before, it would be easier to not take him as seriously.

Carnahan Will Helm REMARKABLE FELLOWS - May 17, 2007 - 12:11pm
Not only did I love Smoking Aces, but Narc was an awesome film as well. I'm down for this.

Frank Miller Has SPIRIT - May 16, 2007 - 01:21am
I hope they don't do it that way because it is his story. I think that it is important to let the story dictate the style. I think it just so happens that 300 and Sin City worked, I'm just not sure that he can always do that.

The Sopranos: Kennedy and Heidi - May 16, 2007 - 12:26am
Chris' death is probably the biggest thing to happen through out the whole series. This episode started out great and had some great elements but it just seemed to fizzle out for me at the end. Don't get me wrong, it was entertaining but it seemed to slow down half way through the episode.

Heroes: Landslide - May 16, 2007 - 12:23am
I thought it was good overall. I was annoyed by one part. Hiro's dad training him. One day (maybe a night) and Hiro is now ready to kill Sylar. I thought it was really corny. Everything else played out really well.
