According to HR, writer-director Jonathan Levine (The Wackness) has two new projects on his horizon. One is a romantic thriller while the other is an espionage thriller. The latter, which covers our genre better, is called Echelon Vendetta and is based on David Stone's novel of the same name. Levine will be adapting the screenplay for Sony Pictures.
Plot Concept: "Vendetta" centers on a "cleaner," a CIA operative in charge of keeping dirty laundry from being aired in public, who after the death of a friend begins to investigate the deaths of several agents.
Levine's horror movie All the Boys Love Mandy Lane has been premiered at various film festivals as early as 2006 but went through some distributor issues that have stalled it from hitting North American theaters. At last mention, the horror film should have been hitting domestic theaters in August by Senator International but we don't see it listed as a release for the month.
