Jonathan Mostow to rewrite and direct SUB-MARINER

According to Variety, Jonathan Mostow (Terminator 3) has signed with Universal Pictures to rewrite and direct Marvel Studios' SUB-MARINER.

The comic, created by cartoonist Bill Everett in April 1939, centers on a young man who discovers he's actually a descendant from the long-lost kingdom of Atlantis. He turns out to be the key man in a brewing war between the underwater world and our own.

Mostow has cleared his schedule in order to make SUB-MARINER his next film, David Self wrote an earlier draft of the screenplay for the studio.

You're right, T3 wasn't that bad. It wasn't T2... but there's no way it could have been. It's certainly not the train-wreck that "Road House 2" is...

You know, Sub-mariner is not a character that makes me want to run to the theatre, but when you just look at the roots of Namor and his origin, they could make an extremely awesome movie out of this, and it would be really original. Instead of focusing on the usual "super powered man saves normal people from super villain" the whole Atlantis vs Us concept with old Wing feet caught in the crossfire could make for an interesting movie.

Ok this is a good sign .. A couple more stinkers like The Hulk Daredevil and this turkey of sea and this comic book trend will die!!

Ahhh good ol' Namor. Far better than Aquaman. Yet not a comic book movie I would make.

AS for trek if they stay the course on the prequel trend that will be the last of the films once again no orginal ideas!! As for Resident Evil I agree with your sarcasim 100% its not needed video game to movie is just another way to fleece the public out of its cash.

Thank god for you dax.... here is an original idea, why doesn't Hollywood make a movie about a person who gets onto a wedsite every day and saves the lives of fellow posters by informing them of Hollywoods lack of originality!!! They could call it.. The Original Adventures of Dax... oh wait... it would suck... because it's boring

Aquaman on Entourage was being sarcastic about these comic book movies Did you see the suit he wore? Silly!! It did a fine job of lampooning the trend. Wasnt funny that as Entourage made fun of Aquaman the CW cancelled its highly touted Aquaman series!! Maybe someone watched HBO and said boys this thing is going sink to the bottom of the ratings sure as the Titanic sank to the bottom of the Atlantic!!

madmanic999 obviously you did not take my advice about getting out of the basement and finding a woman who does not need to be inflated!. Wait my movie? mmmmmm I better get my crappy Dax The Comic Book out there so Kevin Smith can stop working on Jersey Girl 2 and make my damm movie!!!
