Jordan's WHEEL OF TIME series optioned

Robert Jordan's epic fantasy series THE WHEEL OF TIME has been optioned by Red Eagle Entertainment, to be developed as a feature film franchise. The deal between Jordan and Red Eagle involves the massive 10 volume WHEEL OF TIME book series as well as the recently published prequel novel NEW SPRING. The plan is to turn the first book, THE EYE OF THE WORLD, into a screenplay and see if it can be successful; if so, further adaptations of the remaining books will follow.

THE EYE OF THE WORLD follows the adventures of Rand, Perrin and Mat, three townsfolk who find their futures on a mission to stop an ancient evil being, the Dark One, from claiming their world. Along the way the three travellers discover their great destinies and unlock the mysteries of their world's past.
