JT Petty Ready for GOTH Hunt

Videogame scribe JT Petty who just completed his first film, a Western Horror called The Burrowers, has been tapped to direct the adaptation of a best selling Japanese novel/manga called GOTH. Kadokawa, which published the novel, will executive produce the adaptation for Fox Atomic.

Plot Concept: Described as a gothic love story, the project revolves around two high school teens from opposite sides of the tracks who are forced to come together to take down a serial killer in their hometown.

The Burrowers isn't his first movie. There's a movie he did called Mimic 3: Sentinel. It wasn't released in theaters, but doesn't that still count as a movie?

I don't know about this. Not being a fan of manga, anime or most Japanese entertainment for that matter I won't expect much. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised if they make enough changes and take out all the silly twists that seem so prevalent in most of their movies.

Ha. The headline made me think this movie was going to be about people hunting goths. GOTH HUNTERS. That would've been kind of funny.

Sweet. Totally killer. So from the title, it's about kids who listen to Marilyn Manson and secretly cut themselves while complaining about how much life sucks untl they realize they have a higher purpose to track down a killer? Could be good.

This is actually JT's 4th film, look for Soft for Digging and S&MAN, both excellent films.
