Other then the Bourne movies I can't really think of anything she has been in that I really liked. Even in the Bourne movies she never really seemed very compelling. That being said if any show can give an actor a role they can sink their teeth into (sometimes litterally) it's Dexter.

I agree Chopsaki.  None of her work really stands out from the rest.  This no doubt will be a great thing for her career.  I'm happy and surprised at the announcement that Julie Benz will reprise her role.  After the shock of the finale last year, I thought it would be great to have her appear to Dexter kind of like his dad does.  But I read soon after that Julie said the producers had thought about that but decided not to go in that direction.  I wonder if they have changed their minds or if she will just be in flashbacks or something?

I wonder who this mysterious young woman is?  I've read the books, and although the series has deviated heavily from the novels, many aspects are still incorporated into the show.  But nothing I can remember gives any clue as to whom she may be playing.

I never liked Rita....Maybe Julia is Dex's new love interest, and maybe SHE is a serial killer too? We got to See what Dex's life was like when he tried to do "Traditional" now maybe we get to see him team up in a familial sense with someone just like him...What SOMEBODY has to raise Rita's kids?...I may be drunk again.

That does make logical sense, guts. I can see Dexter being pitted opposite someone that agrees with his interests (no matter the odds)...while James Remar and Julie Benz haunt his morales.

Can't wait for next season because I bet Julie comes back and tells the Dex that the kids are more important than his fetish for vigilante justice.

It's like the old WB cartoons. A devil on one shoulder and an angel on the other. Remar on one side and Benz on the other....

If Hall meets a love interest that has a taste for justice as much as he does, it would make for some interesting tales....while Benz interrupts his conscience with "What about the kids???"
 

I dont give a fig about Julia Stiles as long as I get my Rita fix. I dont know if Dex is going to have the kids. I think they may be with the grandparents the shoved in at the end of last season. Lets see how Dexter acts when he doesnt need to be home for dinner!

I seem to recall the producers implying that she wouldn't be a love interest for Dexter. I think the new season is supposed to pick up the day after the season 2 finale, so I think Rita's death will still be too fresh to Dex for him to be getting involved with another woman. As gutsmgee mentioned though, I could see her being another serial killer.
