Julian McMahon has revealed to iF Magazine that he will be back as Dr. Doom for the FANTASTIC FOUR sequel.

Though McMahon will be back in some form, he is not sure of his exact role in the film.

"We haven't got a script yet. The script hasn't been put out and I'm not going to start until the end of August or September. Right now, I'm literally every day, 16 hours a day on Nip/Tuck... I don't think there is going to be as many prosthetics. That was tough. I would rather not do it again, but at the same time, I've signed up to do what I need to do."

The FANTASTIC FOUR sequel is set to release on June 15, 2007. The rumored title for the film is FANTASTIC FOUR AND THE SILVER SURFER.

Surfer lands on Earth and Doom finds him first. Turns the Surfer on FF. FF convince Surfer they're the good guys. Surfer helps the FF take down Doom. Uatu shows up to warn them. Enter Galactus and then the credits.

I saw the Fantastic Four on dvd recently. No, I didn't really care for it. McMachon the weak part of the film? I thought he was the only one who could act. As beautiful as Jessica Alba is, she was horrible. Chris Evans was worse. I think the weak part of the film was actually the screenplay writer(s.) Silver Surfer and Submariner were my favorite superheros when I was a tyke. I hope they don't f up the character too badly.

Fantastic Four was a great film. The effects, acting, and story molded together into an orchestrated tale of heroism and bravery. My only critique is that Meryl Streep should have played the role of Dr. Doom. Maybe they are casting her for Galactus (fingers crossed)...

I never heard of FF before the movie so I'm not bringing a lot of emotional baggage with me to the show. I thought it was entertaining enough to buy the DVD mostly because I'm a Julian McMahon fan and Dr. Doom is just another role he aces. The script could have been developed more for all of the characters in the first one but they ran out of time. The cheesiest part of the first one was the bridge scene. One of the worst I've ever seen in fact, definitely the worst in the movie, and amazingly Dr. Doom had nothing to do with that bomb lol. I always fast forward through that part of the movie. I can't wait for the sequel. It would be nice if people who can't deal would stop bashing it before they see it. They might be surprisingly amused if they can leave their EBS (emotional baggage syndrome) at home and enjoy the show.

Julian McMahon sucked as Doctor Doom, Doom is a cornerstone Marvel Villain and they seriously mucked him up. The FF movie was ok at best, and the thing that made it only ok was Doom, don't get me wrong, the FF comic is not my favourite either but I love Ben Grim and they nailed him and Johny. Their version of Doom and his plot were terrible. I am all for any studio taking liberty with a character or comic story for the sake of a film, but there is a difference between liberty and massacre. I still am looking forward to a sequel to see where they take this, I just hope that the Surfer doesn't turn out to be some homeless guy who gets his powers by eating the crust off a turkey sandwich that the Thing threw in the trash.

You guys! I get that the movie and the plot and the characters aren't up to YOUR expectations. Please let it go. You can NOT attack Julian's performance for those petty reasons. He was AMAZING. I couldn't care less about Marvel's original comic book character's and plots. I'm enjoying the MOVIES for what they ARE not what I or anyone else thinks they SHOULD BE. DON'T make me go after YOUR HEROES.
