I could see this working if it comes out... 3 months before Avengers 2. People will be in waiting for the follow up to the Avengers and many might bite on this and see then see if a lot... if it's good. If it's not, well... You know.

I agree to start the team small. I like MMH, but multiple aliens coming of age at they same time could be too much. I'm okay with just Bats, Sups, and WW, throw in some love triangle tension... could be fun.

im looking forward to this, there is just a lot that needs to be cleaned up.im not sure how i feel about solo spin off movies,i mean you get a BIG action move with the jla then a slower solo origin movie after, not sure i like that.also was thinking about aquaman and how a lot of people are not fans of him or want him in the movie.now if it was done like jedi,a battle in the water= aquaman(might look pretty badd ass),in space =gl, on the ground=batman, the flash, and in the air= superman and wonder woman,it might kick some major ass.all that matters is ill be there opening day hoping its good.

Yeah, I don't see this working.  It'd be awesome if it did, but your average movie goer is not your average comic book fan.  If your average movie goer is hit with too many characters that I have no previous experience with or set up, it'll be overwhelming.  And El Baz, I don't know if TDKR would have done better than The Avengers had their release dates been reversed.  I enjoyed TDKR fine, but I honestly think it was the weakest of the series.  They're two totally different movies.  It's like comparing a roller coaster ride to being stuck in traffic on the beltway listening to Pink Floyd album.

SarcasticCaveman 10/19/2012 12:18:40 PM

Not doing solo movies to establish characters before a JLA movie just seems like a dumb move overall.  It give me a mental image of a kid having a temper tantrum, stomping his foot, hands balled into fists screaming "I DON'T CARE WHAT WORKED AT MARVEL! I'M NOT MARVEL! I WANNA DO IT THIS WAY!"

Wiseguy 10/19/2012 12:26:03 PM

So by some of you guys' thinking all movies with more than 1  character need solo films to introduce them, completely absurd IMO. FF and X-Men didn't do that or need to, yeah neither of them turned out great but it wasn't for a lack of a solo film beforehand.

We can easily pick up with the team established or being formed.

And to those that think that you can't do solo films after a huge team up movie are way off. You don't think folk are looking forward to Thor, Cap and IM's sequels?

st8fromvegas I'd venture to say that if anything Avengers opened or kicked the doors wide open for the solo films after that spectacle. Not that the solo films will make that same bank but I bet it expanded the fan base to say the least

I just think that the deck is too stacked against a JL movie.

SarcasticCaveman 10/19/2012 12:36:57 PM

Wiseguy - some teams, I would totally agree with you.  X-Men?  Easy to start as a group.  But come on, the JLA has too many larger than life icons to just lump all together all at once, IMO.  I'm not even a DC fan - I'm a Marvel guy - but DC does have it all over Marvel when it comes to recognizable characters.  Again, just my opinion.

Let me sum this idea up in two words.

lazarus 10/19/2012 1:55:20 PM

In case you have't guessed, this is called panic response. They know they are too far behind and are too impatient to do it correctly. That is the issue. Game. Set. Match.

The reason the Avengers worked is because you were already invested in the characters from the previous films. You start a movie like JLA with no predecessor movies, the effect will be rushed and not believable.

lazarus 10/19/2012 1:58:10 PM

Hey here is an idea. Do a WORLD'S FINEST movie first. You can reboot Bats into the new MOS universe. And start from there. Then include the rest of the team into it. Not that  hard,
