Justice League Heroes

I am glad to say that this week that we have been flooded with a lot of great games. There seems to be a game for everyone out there, and it continues to grow exponentially. This week we have many games that range from combat, to flying. We also have games that have battled in court, just not in a Pheonix Wright style. We have a battle between comic book games, and the battle will get more intense next week. But enough with the intro, and on with the show.
Age of Empires III: The Warchiefs (PC) - The Age of Empires series continues, but this time with an interesting expansion. In this game you will now have the option as playing as three Native American civilizations. This sounds quite interesting, so it may be something to look out for, if you liked the previous games.
Battlefield 2142 (PC) - What could I say about Battlefield 2142 that could not make you excited about the release? Well, other than the games taking your data to try and spy on you, this game looks just as fun as the previous ones. I had the pleasure of trying this game out at E3, and the new vehicles are very fun to play with. The whole system is a fresh take on the future, and it will be worth picking up.
The Guild 2 (PC) - This medieval Sim returns with even more of a punch than the first one. Set within an age ripe with intrigue, you can rise above the ranks of society to become its controller. If you are into steel swords, this game will be fore you. This also comes from the publisher of the Gothic series, which means you can expect a lot out of the game.
Flight Simulator X (PC) - It has been a while since we have seen a quality flight Sim game, but now the wait is over. You may return back to the grind of flying through the air, and landing in the airports of your choice. With plenty of planes to try out, this will scratch the pilot itch deep inside of you. Plus, you could always go all out and get the deluxe edition.
Justice League Heroes (X-Box / PS2 / PSP / DS / GBA) - With Justice League Heroes out this month, it puts it in direct competition with the Marvel realm, whom are also releasing their own collective game. What does Justice League Heroes have though, that the Marvel game does not? You have an intimate battle experience, which has you only playing two characters at a time. You also have the greatest crime fighting hero of all time with Batman... oh yes, you also have Superman. For the lone reason though that this could be the first DC game that is a solid and fun experience, I will give it my game of the week nod.
Family Guy (PS2 / PSP / X-Box) - What do you get when you turn a television show into a videogame? You get a half ass experience, much like the Simpsons games. What will be different though is the Family Guy humour, and while a little over the top from the original three seasons, it should be an entertaining experience. I question though how long the gameplay will last.
Splinter Cell: Double Agent (X-Box 360) - The series continues again with another Tom Clancy game. Sim Fisher gets his hands dirty so that he can play the roll of a double agent, to save his world... of the United States. This one moves a little bit beyond the games normal scope, but everything looks fantastic. This will be another strong game to look out for, as this week is jam packed with them.
Destroy All Humans 2 (Xbox / PS2) - So you are not into a serious alien invasion? This game will be perfect for you, as you play an alien in the United States. Your job is to lay the hurt on the humans you find, and accomplish your mission of destroying all the humans. The first game was fun, though a little short, so I am sure this one will be just as fun as the original since you can now play with a friend.
Bully (PS2) - Are you sick and tired of being picked on? Do you want to turn the tables around, and inflict that crippling emotional pain that was done to you? While it may not be to the people that did it to you, you can finally get it out of your system with Bully. Rockstar is backing it, in and outside of the courts, securing this interesting game for us all. Luckily it has been cleared for the US audience. If you want to stick it to people that want to ban violent videogames, buy this one.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance (PSP / DS) - Following the theme of their X-Men Legends games, with console games being released later this year, you will play as a colourful cast of characters, taken from across the entire Marvel Universe. Your goal is to battle against many different enemies, but none as suiting as the Arcade super villain. If you were a fan of the X-Men Legend Series, you should have a lot of fun with it, even though there is no Batman.
Nintendogs Dalmatian (DS) - The trend continues with the Nintendogs line, now spicing it up with a different types of dog to play with. This series seems to still have a bit of life in it, so it should be an interesting game to pick up, or even buy a DS for.
Contact (DS) - With a similar styling of Earthbound at its mittens, Atlus brings another RPG to the NDS with Contact. The two screens differ, allowing for one screen to talk to a professor, while the bottom screen allows you to battle. A unique aspect in this game, almost a bit like Kid Chameleon, you change the clothing of your character to give them different stats, and different abilities. This will be a must have for DS owners.
It seems that a lot of people are trying to get their games out before the PS3 and Wii launch in about a month. I have also noticed that a lot of the games that are coming out are a little cheaper than usual, which allows you to get more bang for your buck. I expect that this trend will continue even after the consoles are released, and I am very hyped about it. I also was lucky enough to score a pre-order on the Wii, so we should have game reviews for that after its release. We are seeing an exciting end to this year as well, even though we are several months away from it. All and all though, right now is a great time to be a gamer.
