Although recent rumor has it that the 'Justice League' movie has been knocked into a far orbit, Sydney's Daily Telegraph still holds to the story that it will begin filming this summer, on location in Australia.
SYDNEY is shaping up as the leading location for Megan Gale's forthcoming Wonder Woman flick, Justice League of America.
The Manly Daily reports a historic former seminary on North Head is among the likely filming sites for the super hero extravaganza, expected to proceed within months following the resolution of the United States writers' strike.
The palatial gothic masterpiece, now home to the International College of Management, recently hosted Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's wedding, drawing it to the attention of Warner Bros location scouts.
Quotes from local authorities certainly make it seem as if things are proceeding for a 2008 shoot:
ICM general manager Frank Prestipino told The Manly Daily he had been approached by the studio but was still awaiting confirmation.
"They have certainly been looking at the college as a location,'' Mr Prestipino said.
Of course, the conversations Mr. Prestipino refers to could well have happened before the film's postponement in January. It was then that the studio announced it was abandoning plans to start production in the first quarter, and would retool the script and, possibly, recast the film. Production would hopefully commence later in the year.
Unconfirmed rumors surfaced last week that the delays would be much longer and the movie would not start production until 2010.
