I like the idea but are they actually going to have any of these famous horror characters in it, or just the places they live in? And I can`t really get excited about a scribe who`s previous screenplay was Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li, especially since it Kristin Kreuk in the lead.

I like the premise. Don't blame Justin Marks just because of Kristen Kreuk. Maybe the Street Fighter movie will be good in spite of her.

You are right, but can you name a movie where the main character was played by a terrible actor and the movie still was good? And don`t you dare mention The Matrix. Keanu is the man!

The problem with Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li isn't Kristin Kreuk, although that is one of the problems. The main problem is they have decided to center the film around Chun Li, instead of oh I don't know, maybe the lead in every single thing having to do with StreetFighter, Ryu!!! When are these fools gonna understand, it's Ryu's game, make the movie about him!!!!!! As far as this goes, I doubt they will let the characters be on this film, maybe she'll just go kill a guy at Elm Street or something but I doubt Freddy will be showing up. I didn't know they were working on a Green Arrow flick. Interesting. By the way, for the role of Vlad, her hulking companion, I nominate......you guessed it.........Kimbo Slice son!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if Megan Fox is still gonna do this? I remember her name popped up when first talking about this.......Were't they also gonna do a movie where Green Arrow was in prison and then he escapes or something?.....I never read Hack/Slash, but I think it is an awesome idea.

The Green Arrow movie was Supermax, but I think it was written by David Goyer, wasn't it? Anywayk, GA gets wrongfully imprisoned in a Supermax facility for super-powered villains and has to fight his way through his rogue's gallery of villains without his bow & arrow, while trying to escape so he can prove his innocence. Something like that. Oh, and this sounds pretty good... *IF* they can get the rights to some of the other characters. If they're just generic slashers, the movie will blow.

I'm getting tired of this. Some of you guys need to read up on how movies are made. Or maybe pick up an official copy of a script from a movie that you've seen. In most cases, when a movie goes bad, it's the director. A script won't describe how the set should look, where to point the camera, what to focus on, what the actors should be wearing, who the roles should be played by, (I could go on and on...) In this case, Justin Marks, should have an easy time with this project, unless the studios are pulling his strings, and since THEY brought him in to finalize a script it just might be. But you don't blame him for whose in it or the way it looks. You want an example than just take a look at the Star Trek movies. There's a perfect case of studio direction over screenwriter direction. As for the second subject. I'd love to see a montage of famous horror icons being beaten and out witted by this duo... but sadly... it won't happen. Too many studios and character rights and bullshit red tape to go through. I haven't read these books yet, but I plan too, and wonder if these villains are in the books. Does anybody know? If so did they have to get rights for it? I don't know how that stuff translates to comic books or even novels. I guess the only other avenue to go would be to make up new villains that terroize the townsfolk and then Hack can do her stuff. Just won't have the same impact and fun, at least for me, than if she were to be battling Jason's brute strength and power to regenerate, or Freddy's wit and mystical dream powers, or Michael's unbreakable will and the ability to chase after one person regardless of his obsticles, etc... I guess the only solution to this problem would be if Warner Brothers had purchased the rights to this instead of Universal.

I`m getting tired of this. Some of you guys need to actually read posts properly. At no point did I blame Justin Marks for anything. All I said was I don`t have much faith in a guy who just wrote a Street Fighter sequel based on Chun Li. I don`t care who is in it. Sarah Silverman could be playing the lead role and I`d still have no faith. As someone already pointed out if anything the movie should be based on Ryu. Chun Li is a secondary character at best. Its like basing an X-men movie on the Blob or Toad.

As a reader of the comic from pretty much day 1 I can tell you Cassie Hack and Vlad do not hunt down Jason or Myers or Freddy. They hunt down 'Slashers' which is basically the classification type given to characters such as Myers, Voorhees etc. They don't need to hunt down these well known characters they have their cast of killers and it works out great. XO, Ashley, Father Wrath. They are all great characters. Chucky is the only mainstream horror icon to appear in the comic series in a crossover, which was actually quite good and was worked into the main storyline unlike most crossovers. Rogue pictures owns the rights to Chucky currently I thought? He could always appear in the film if they wanted. You should really check out the comic book. Most of the series in in TPB form now, there is even a giant ass omnibus. Everyone we have convinced to try out Hack/Slash in our comic store has become a subscriber to it, if you like horror you will likely love this.

I think it sounds really interesting. And they should have their own "slaher/hackers". Imagine if they'd put Jason,Freddy or Michael in this. Everyone would be talking about continuity issues and all the non-sense that goes with using these iconic characters and how they ruined them and so on. Better to make up your own.
