Davis, CA leads WOLVERINE Prem Contest (Article) - 4/11/2009 5:32:32 AM

Figures a contest featuring one of the most popular characters from outside of the USA would have a contest limit entries.  I guess the organizers are afraid of possible embarasment that might occur if a USA locale did not win.

Mania Giveaway: Win 50 Dollars Gift Voucher from Warner Brothers (Article) - 3/20/2009 3:12:11 AM

First of all since this is for the webstore I hope anyone meaning not just people who live in the world and not just residents of the USA can enter and have a equal shot I am going to give it a whirl.

My Submission

Now I am not sure if this will count as creative or convincing but I am not working no that is not why I should win or realy any big surprise but one of the things I do is I help run a comic book, fantasy and sci fi group.  As many of us know in one way or another Warner brothers has been around for a long time.  Like the group I am happy to be involved with they do not limit themselves to one genre, universe or medium.  Now it is my hope if I or the group was to win the $50 gift voucher it could help in the aid of getting a item or items to maybe introduce members of our group to show some of the interesting and good varied genres, universes and mediums that WB is part of.  This could be beneficial also due to the fact that many of our group are like me and not working plus we do not collect dues.  It is a shame it could not be more but perhaps with the $50 it could go towards the purchase of a DVD and or book.  Now I know some might find it corney but here is a sorta poem of things I think of re Warner.

W - arranty = You would never have to worry about this cause Warner products have quality.

A - bility = Listening, Reading or Watching something done from Warner has the abilty to take you wonderful place.

R - ave = I rave about the ability Warner has in its varried products.

N - arrative = Warner has shown its ability to chronicle different types and kinds of stories throughout it's existence.

E - ntertaing = I am usually entertained by anything from Warner Brothers.

R - eality = Warner has shown us there can be more then one type of reality out there.

Thanxs for your time.

I have seen some of the first episode of the Ironman toon it previewed here a few weeks ago and it reminded me of the MTV Spiderman show from a few years back.

WATCHMEN Book Giveaway (Article) - 2/16/2009 5:24:31 PM

I think the thing that is so appealing about Watchmen is it dared to be different.  By that I mean aside from the rare story most comic boook stories either regular series or one shots/mini series for lack of a better term are kind of bright and shiney.  Also in one way or another one or more of the characters has a typical happy ending but from the get go Watchman showed us that not every story is a bright and shiney storey.  Finally it showed us it is possible for the same artist and writer to stick with a long story for more then just a few months which seems to be even rarer in todays world with delays, revamps and reboots.  I cannot wait to see how well this story translates to the big screen and if cast is any indication it should be just as interesting as the comic.

How about while we are stating things comic companies from doing how about year long mini or should I say max series with a issue every week. If you have to do a weekly book a) make all the issues good and b) more importantl;y have them cheaper then the regular books.
