MERLIN: Excalibur Review (Article) - 8/4/2009 4:05:26 AM

They could broadcast Anthony Head reading the phone book and I'd be there so I really am enjoying this show.  And this was a good episode for King Uther.

The plot thickens.

How can you not love the Legion Of Superheros?  The LSH is great!

I think they are using Nuked The Fridge now but personally, I liked Jump The Shark better.

Now, I always liked Wendy and Marvin much more than the Wonder Twins.  Ok, I liked Wendy better.  Wendy had no powers, but she had a logical, deductive mind.  When the actual Super Friends, even Batman, went rushing off half cocked in the wrong direction, she gave the mystery du jour a little thought and came up with the right answer.  She was calm in a crisis too.  That she had to cart her moronic boyfriend and his equally moronic dog around with her all the time was her only fault.

Having The Wonder Twins around was like having 2 Marvins with stupid shape changing powers which they used to get into even more trouble than Marvin did.  And lets not even talk about Gleek the space monkey.

So yeah, make fun of Marvin all you like, but let's give a little love for Wendy, a lady who had it all together.

And making jokes about Bouncing Boy is a cheap shot.  Try making jokes about Stone Boy instead.  Now THERE was a useless power...

Um, I didn't see the movie, but from the commercials, the critters in G-Force are guinea pigs, not gerbils.

I'm looking forward to both G I Joe and Julia & Julia.  And I have a wedding to attend this weekend.  Oh no!  What shall I do?

Scott Directing ALIEN Prequel (Article) - 8/1/2009 4:50:42 AM

Blade Runner doesn't need a sequel.

Scott Directing ALIEN Prequel (Article) - 7/31/2009 12:01:14 PM

The problem with the Alien vs Predator thing is, it was about Aliens and Predators and not about humans.  Therefore, they made the Predator more anthropomorphised so we would have more of a point of view character to sympathize with.   Then the Predator isn't a monster any more, just a bigger, tougher human and it looses the specialness of being a Predator.

I may be the only human on Earth who liked Alien 4.  I'd kind of like to know what happened to the hybrid Rippley clone.

Warehouse 13: Claudia Review (Article) - 7/31/2009 4:24:27 AM

Well, the flashback structure was presumabably meant to add a little mystery to the procedings.  When Claudia showed up Artie could have said "I remember you!  My incompetance and mismanagement resulted in the death of your brother when he tried to use an artefact to recreate a fameous teleportation experiment without proper research!  I've been wracked with guilt ever since!"

But if they did that, they would be accused of spoon feeding us information.  And it would not have been half as interesting.

Warehouse 13: Claudia Review (Article) - 7/30/2009 4:08:00 AM

Skroin said "I'm just not yet interested enough in Artie to really care about what happened in his past, and would rather they concentrate on fleshing out the characters more before doing something like this. "

Um, this seemed to be an attempt to flesh out the character of Artie by showing us something that had happened in his past that had an emotional impact on him.

I didn't think that this episode was that bad.  It wasn't too surprising, but it had some nice moments and kept me entertained.  It's not as interesting as Eureka, but give it a little t ime to grow.

Was there a box office report this weekend?  I can't seem to find it.
