Legendary Moving Forward

It looks as if Legendary Pictures is now moving forward with their big screen adaptation of World of Warcraft. Deadline.com is reporting:

“Legendary Pictures and Atlas Entertainment are casting up Warcraft, the movie adaptation of the hit Blizzard video game World Of Warcraft that Duncan Jones will direct.”

The film, which will be directed by Duncan Jones (Moon), has currently made offers to Colin Farrell (Total Recall) and Paula Patton (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol). Patton is negotiating for the lead, where Farrell is reported to be 50/50 on the project.

The picture was originally slated for a Warner Brothers release but, with Legendary's recent break from Warner it will now land at Universal.

Warcraft is based on the World of Warcraft online game that “takes place in a medieval-like setting where players control avatars that take on gryphons, dragons, zombies, werewolves and elves. Time travel and alien worlds also are part of the mix”. Production of the film begins in January 2014.

Is it Paula Patton thats up for the lead or Paul Patton?

Well its obvious Paula can get it only if she agrees to a sex change. Colin is 50/50 on it becuase he's also trying to decide if he should become Colleen.

I know next to nothing aout the game since I've never played. I was interested in the movie somewhat way back when Sam Raimi might possibly direct. Now I will just wait for a trailer or good set and and actor pics. It would be cool to see another epic fantsy movie.

So I'm assuming she is going to be a night elf hunter wearing a little clothing as they can get away with.

I've never played the game but had I never read the LotR trilogy either but it didn't stop me from enjoying the movies.

Paula Patton is hot. Can't believe she's married to Alan Thicke's son.

I'm all over this. I love medieval fantasy movies and feel like not enough are made.

For the record, I never played World of Warcraft although I remember playing Warcraft:Orcs and Humans on my PC many years ago when it was just a strategy game.

It sounds cool, lets hope they spin it correctly.  This movie has been in the works for five plus years, to bad they did not roll it out when WOW was in its hay day.  I mean I think the game still has something like 8 million paying members, that have been playing for 10 years.  The movie will get over 10 million people seeing it world wide in its first two or three weeks alone.  I'll go since I let that game suck almost 5 years of my life away...lol.

FOR THE ALLIANCE.....................

Ummm I remember when I looked forward to D&D coming out and then I almost cried in the theater at how bad it was.

raynardmuldrake 9/23/2013 2:39:23 PM

It came out in November 2004...so its been sucking my life force away for the past 9 years....although i dont really play as much as i used too...got tired of the same ole thing time after time.

I get where you're coming from, almostunbiased...D&D was dreadful, and most movies based on video games are less than stellar in my opinion...however, this movie DOES have the advantage of having the director of "Moon" and "Source Code"...so I'm wary, but hopeful.

Colin Farrell?  Well the suck factor just took a sharp turn north.
