Mathieu Kassovitz---the director of Gothika and Babylon A.D---has two high profile projects on the horizon, one set around war and one a big budget flick set on a space station. HR is reporting the director will take on Rebellion (the war flick) and MNP (the space one) back to back with shooting on the latter to begin in 2011. Production will be handled through his own company, which is aptly named MNP.

Plot Concept for Rebellion:
Based on the true story of French commandoes who clashed with tribal dwellers in the South Pacific territory of New Caledonia in 1988. The 15 million euros ($23.5 million) film, featuring an all-French A-list cast, will start shooting at the end of the year.

Overview of MNP:
A big-budget film set on a space station. MNP, the name of both the first space station and Kassovitz's indie company with co-producer Benoit Jaubert, will feature two U.S. stars and eight actors from around the world. The technologically heavy "end of the world" project will utilize special planes that are able to simulate a zero gravity environment for 25 seconds. MNP will work closely with space stations and aeronautical organizations to prepare for the complex project that is set to start shooting in 2011.
