Smart move. I'd rather watch Beckinsale than Parker any time.

I pity anyone who had the name of Nimrod forced on them at birth. Ah well. Kate is a total babe. I agree a much better choice then Sarah. Could be interesting.

According to IMDB, Antal was born in LA, but moved to Hungary when he was 18. He has only directed one feature in Hungary (Kontroll) but it appears to have been well-received, winning a lot of awards at film festivals. The writer is also new with no filmed screenplays completed yet, but apparently has a few in the pipeline. The studio must have some faith in the project, since Beckinsale is clearly an upgrade over Parker.

"Kate Beckinsale joins..." that's all I read. I'm in. Didn't need to waste any time reading the article or any previous posts about it.

About time Frank Whaley got some more work...I miss him.

This is just a hunch, but since he moved to Hungary, I'm guessing his parents were likely immigrants who were unaware of the cultural context of "Nimrod" in the USA. There's not much to say, other than it was an unfortunate choice. And no, the world does not revolve around the USA, but he was born in the US and presumably grew up in the US, so he likely had to live with some degree of abuse while growing up. Kids are cruel, and defending the name's noble history would likely beget even more abuse. Names don't exist in a vacuum, they can take drastic changes depending on the cultural climate. For instance, the name "Judas" is virtually extinct (in fact had been outlawed in a number of countries), and "Adolf" was not an uncommon name among German Americans prior to WWII but is rarely seen now. For that matter, how many younger men do you know named "Richard" who go by the nickname "Dick"? It used to be quite common, but increasingly these guys use "Rich" for an abbreviated name.

She is so amazing, and yet I probably won't see this. If I did it would only be for her. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Hot.

Sarah Jessica Parker looks like a horse. Replacing her with Kate bodes very well for Vacancy.
