Please note: I did not attend this panel personally but the presentation sheet that FUNimation used was sent to me to use to cover what was covered:

The panel was hosted by Lance Heiskell who is one of the senior brand managers for FUNimation and a staple at many conventions during the last couple of years.

Details on the change to their release schedule:

FUNimation knows that the voice of the fan community is very important. Based on fan feedback from conventions, online forums, Operation Anime, and internal research, we are pleased to announce the introduction of monthly release date schedules for the majority of new FUNimation titles. This new release schedule will be a new volume every 4 to 5 weeks.

Collect an entire 6 volume series in under 6 months!

Some new FUNimation titles will not be subject to the new monthly release format because of master tape delivery schedules. With some series, we receive everything at once. With some shows, we receive multiple scheduled deliveries over a determined length of time. We base the release schedule format accordingly.

Currently, this new monthly release schedule pertains to new shows only. Titles like Case Closed, Baki the Grappler, DBZ Uncuts, etc. will keep their current release schedule.
