Patrick Smith Kelly will be in charge of penning the screenplay for the adaptation of the Kit Whitfield werewolf novel, BENIGHTED, says the Hollywood Reporter. The supernatural thriller will likely be directed by Andrew Adamson who is also producing the project alongside Graham King for Warner Bros. This would be darker territory for New Zealand director Adamson whose credits include Shrek, Shrek 2, Chronicles of Narnia:Lion,Witch & Wardrobe and Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.
Plot Concept: Set in an alternate reality in which 90% of the population are werewolves and the minority human population is responsible for keeping the peace during the full moon. The book follows the story of Lola, a member of the police force investigating a series of suspicious, unsolved murders.
