I guess they had to hire a huge team of writers in case the curse continues into this reboot/remake.

oh boy, here we go . gonna be really hard to make it better than the original. one thing i do hope for this remake is that they keep the original music score , to me that made the original even that much better.

Do we need a remake?

I am generally against remakes but Moster House is by far one of my fav animated movies even above most Pixar movies like Cars.  Moster House was AWESOME.  I think this is a great match.  When I took my daughter to do see it a bunch of kids stated crying when the Monster House first came alive.  It was hilarious and that was a kids movie.  LOL  Poltergeist will be scary as hell in this remake I am sure.

Poltergeist was one of the creepiest horror movies of my childhood so hopefully they'll do it justice with the remake.  It would be nice if they use more practical effects than cgi.  I still think the best creature in the movie was the ghost near the end of the movie with the long grasshopper legs and skeleton face.  They filmed the creature model inside of a big tank of water to give the creature that ghostly effect.

The scene where the guy pulls his face off scared the living shite outta me.  My sado-masochistic side hopes that's still there...

I'm not at all against remakes but they'll need a lot of luck and talent to top the original...so good luck to them

Its going to be hard to capture the character interaction and subtle deadpan humor of the original...but hey, this isnt being made for me. Its being made for a whole new generation that has been so desensitized in terms of of what to expect in horror films, it will have to be full of bells and whistles. I was 13 when this film hit the theaters and then came out on HBO later that summer. A bunch of us neighbor kids, about 7 of us, watched it at my house one friday night...when that clown wrapped its arm around the boy, all of us screamed or covered our eyes. Good times of long ago. Shame we have to grow up so quickly...lol!

Monster House was both scary and funny.  It was kids movie scary, but it shows that Gil Kenan has the skills for this kind of movie. He is also funny at times in a twisted kind of way very similar to Sam Raimi. That is why I think he was picked for the job.

Not gonna bother with this remake/reboot either. Poltergeist is a classic Ghost Story, and doesn't need a remake/reboot. Besides, it won't have Jo-Beth Williams as the Hot Mom, so it will surely suck!!! ;-p
