TV Guide's all-knowing insider Michael Ausiello exclusively broke the news yesterday that Keri Russell ('Felicity', 'Mission: Impossible III') has been cast in the lead role in a 'Wonder Woman' feature film. The movie, however, is not the long-planned live action movie, but rather the latest in the series of animated direct-to-video films DC Comics has been producing.
Ausiello says the film is planned for release late this year or early in 2009.
The Amazon princess next appears in the direct-to-video animated feature 'Justice League: The New Frontier', although Lucy Lawless plays the role in that film. A live action version of the character would appear in the 'Justice League' feature film, which may or may be greenlit this week.
