From Under the Dome to Tomorrowland

Walt Disney has official announced that Britt Robertson (Under the Dome, Delivery Man) has been cast in a lead role in Brad Bird’s TOMORROWLAND.

Synopsis: In the film, TOMORROWLAND, a high school girl with an unconventional understanding of technology is launched on a journey to reclaim her future.

TOMORROWLAND features George Clooney, Hugh Laurie, Raffey Cassidy, Britt Robertson, and Thomas Robinson. The film is directed by Brad Bird, produced by Damon Lindelof and Brad Bird, and written by Damon Lindelof, Brad Bird and Jeff Jenson.

TOMORROWLAND arrives in theaters December 12, 2014.

Well, that's off to a bit of "blah" start for me at least.  She's terrible in Under the Dome.  Although I'm not sure if that's her fault or the writers' fault.

She's not bad. Cute girl too.

Got to watch her on this drama TV show she played an adopted orphan in. Yeah yeah. I was suckered to watch with the better half.

Anyhow. She was good on that show. I think it was called Life Unexpected or something like that.

I take it that this is going to be based on the Disneyland zone Tomorrowland?  If so, which version?  The kinda cool, retro-Tomorrowland of the 60s-80s, or the updated, mass-marketed, Star-Wars-and-Toy-Story version that exists in the park today?

Most importantly, how can they work in Johnny Depp and his wonky, so-crazy-he's-quaint acting style that Disney can't seem to live without?
