KICK-ASS Costume Revealed

By: Rob M. Worley

Thanks to our loyal Maniac Antonello Bluberry who sent in these photos, which look to be from the set of 'Kick-Ass' in Toronto.

The photos show a man wearing a suit that's a replica of the one seen in the comics. The guy is presumably a stunt player and doesn't look much like star Aaron Johnson, who'll play the kid under the mask.

My god, that's ridiculous.

Oh, hey! This is the first mania article about the kick-ass that doesn't reveal a spoiler for the comic in the plot synopsis!

Those are some KICK-ASS pajamas he's got on. Sheesh, that looks awful.

Vaughn really is staying loyal to the book, that's spot on.
The suit is supposed to be a scuba diving suit if I recall correctly. It may look awful but that's exactly how it looks in the book.
Looking forward to seeing bodies being dismembered and heads split in half.
Girl must be using a Hanzo sword.

The suit does look a little nutty, but I certainly don't think that's a bad thing. I may be in the minority, but I'm growing tired of Bat-armor and leather X-suits. I'd LOVE to see a hero on the big screen in tights for a change!

It does look a little silly, but isn't that kind of the idea? I haven't read the series, but from what I've read about it, it's just some kid who decides to try to be a superhero and puts on a suit, right?

OH $#!+ it's 1980's Lex Luthor!

Bear in mind this is supposed to be an ordinary high-school kid in the "real world" who makes the costume himself out of a scuba suit.

The plausibility of doing anything strenuous in a scuba suit (aside from scuba diving) aside, it's not supposed to look like a form-fitting, muscle-accentuating body glove designed by a professional costumer (or even someone with a good eye for design)

Hah....he does look like 1980s Lex. Maybe they should have used purple accents instead of yellow :)

The suit sort of reminds of something they would wear in Tron. Kermit the Frog is pretty bad-ass also, I mean he will tear shit up. I never read the comic, but it sounds like it could be a cool movie.
