The Review!4 out of 5
Music found in the KI*ME*RA. Movie.
This CD comes with a three-page insert. The insert contains a quick look at a few soundtrack titles available through ADV. And the final page has the CD credits.
This CD is an entire CD stocked full of great compositions from Shiro Sagisu. Mr. Sagisu has gone back to the darker instrumentals that abound his works like works he has done for Neon Genesis Evangelion, but by no means are they the same. Once again Sagisu shows his versatility in composing, and each song stands out as a masterpiece. The darker aspects of the music suit the CD very well and instead of leaving the listener with a sense of sameness, the tracks, though of the same somberness, are truly individual. Sagisu triumphs once again with a selection of music that rivals the emotional response of his Macross works. If anything could truly be said about this CD that is negative, it would have to be that the compositions, though emotionally inspiring and a good listen, do tend to be a bit overlong. The emotional response in some of the songs elicited from the listener could have been gotten with a lot less of song. Some of the introductions alone last longer than the listener is willing to wait to hear it.
I’d have to say a darker Sagisu is always my favorite.
