I just saw this movie the other day and I really enjoyed it.  It was a bit slow in some areas and a couple more disasters would have been cool.  I like the direction the plot went by mixing science, psuedo science and religion.

The special effects were cool, especially the Plane Crash. Everything else was absolute shit. Please wait for dvd if you see it at all.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie which however could have benefited from seriously better acting. I feel Nicholas Cage has joined the group of non-expressionaries headed by Keanu Reeves and Christian Bale. The special effects were truely stunning although further investigation would show how the fire around the plane crash was added later as Mr. Cage puts his hand into the fire without feeling anything. The story did drag at times and gave us an ending which drew the line between a heavenly raise and the existence of extra terrestial life. I would also like to pay tribute to Professor W. I thought this article, like his series of reviews, is well written and provides an in depth analysis which is broader than that directly attributed to the film. Probing deeper thought and providing an almost unanswerable question , certainly for me, gives good conversation at the dinner table. Thanks for that!!!

Caecilius out.

 Hi Caecilius Out!

Hearty thanks for your unsolicited kindness.  You are the living disproof of the old adage that "fine words butter no parsnips"!  You have indeed buttered my parsnips (in the nicest possible way!) and I hope you continue to have good dinner conversations.

BTW I incorrectly attributed the screenplay of Knowing to the director and not, as it should have been, to Ryne Douglas Pearson.  Mr Pearson was kind enough to point out that mistake to me in fifty years' time!

W
