After a strong outing in the previous episode with Yuu, it's back for more undead fun.

What They Say:
I'm Aikawa Ayumu, a zombie and a Masou Shoujo. I arranged to meet Kyoko-chan at the great spot of my recommendation after her release from the hospital, but while the sun is up my mental and physical capacity is that of a three year old's (according to my research). That's why I was the only human in the world lounging around and waiting to see Kyoko-chan while hoping the sun would explode...

The Review:
Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
With Ayumu finally really understanding Yuu after their very good heart to heart conversation in the last episode, life is settling back to normal. Ayumu's actually asking some good questions now that things have quieted down, such as why Seraphim kissed Haruna since she was going to suck her blood and he learns that kissing serves as an anesthetic for the process, one that he's definitely willing to help out on. She's refusing quite plainly, though she won't say why, but it's hard to imagine it's something other than the fact that he's an undead zombie being a big part of it. Who would want to suck a zombies blood? Outside of that, events proceed forward, such as th girls all taking baths together and Ayumu stumbling into Haruna's room while she's naked. It's a tough life being a guy in this situation.

Ayumu's life is certainly an interesting one to watch and we continue to get some decent little nuggets about living as a zombie. One of which involves how he handles the daytime, which is not well, as he says it makes him feel like a three year old in how it reduces him mentally and physically. He's generally an easygoing guy but he hits a bit of luck when he ends up talking with Kyoko on the phone a fair bit and the two actually decide to meet one night so they can see just how well they can connect. Kyoko's definitely a cutie and Ayumu is very much into her, but you know there's going to be something really unexpected about this. Unexpected like a sword through the back.

The truth behind Kyoko brings us to a rather good action sequence for the episode as she deals out her revenge against Ayumu and makes him completely aware of it. The threat and style of the sequence is quite good, even if it a touch forced, but it allows the show to have the girls come to his rescue. Seraphim and Haruna working together is definitely welcome and seeing what Kyoko can do with the scale of her abilities makes her a fun threat, but one you know that will be ultimately dealt with. The combination of Sera and Haruna with Ayumu in his magical girl mode is just right. There are some story elements that get nudged into the flow of events as Kyoko reveals some of it before she really gets take hurting him and the others, but the main thrust here is all about the action.

In Summary:
After the really good performances and revelations in the previous episode, I can't say I expected much out of this episode of Kore wa Zombue deu ka? The best moments for me involved seeing everyone at the house going through their daily routines with a couple of little nuggets of information being doled out and watching Ayumu having his phone conversations. When it shifts to the action side of it later, it's very well done as can be expected based on past episodes, but it feels a little by rote and predictable overall, though Kyoko has her appeal. Putting Ayumu working with Sera and Haruna is a nice touch but you really want to know what it is that Yuu is thinking as she watches on.
