LaBeouf talks "Indiana Jones 4"

In a recent interview with People, Shia LaBeouf talked about his upcoming role in Indiana Jones 4 and what he is doing to prepare for it.

Excerpt from the interview:

Shia LaBeouf has gained 15 pounds – and he's happy about it. The Disturbia actor is beefing up to star in the new Indiana Jones movie alongside Harrison Ford. "The guy is still in premium shape," LaBeouf tells PEOPLE. "You don't want to be standing next to Harrison Ford and not be jacked also."

"I'll run for an hour and then I'll do two hours of weights," he says. "I have definitely not trained like this for anything in my life. I'm preparing like I'm going into battle."

Do you feel a lot of pressure when it comes to this role?

Extreme pressure. You don't want to be the edition that sucks. You want to be in the edition that enhances it, so it's tough. This is 20 years in the making now. The script has been in development for 15 years. It's a huge project and you treat it that way.

I just wanted to click the photo above to get a better "view" of Megan Fox. Thanks. :P

Indy IV should be pretty good as it's about time for another.

Enough with all of the talk! We've been talking about this movie for almost 20 years. Just make the darn movie already.

Sounds like there will be some action scenes in this film.
I wonder if anyone will wear a fedora?

I just have one question... Who the hell is "Ed"?

Did we really need to see his son? While we don’t know the overall plot of the film I think we can pretty much predict what will happen between Indy and his son. It’s going to be like Last Crusade except this time Indy is the father and LeBeouf is the son. Indy either will not know he has a son at the start of a film (and one of the old flames will let him know early on) or this will be a reunion after many years. Of course the son will be the total opposite of Indy….I mean we need to see father and son exchange barbs throughout the entire film. Finally, by the end of the movie father and son will work things out….The End.

The script was 15 years in the making.

Yeah, like THAT'S a good sign.

themacallan007 is probably pretty close to being dead-on. This feels so much like it'll be Last Crusade, all over again. Except this time the father will be the adventuring archaeologist and the son will, at least initially, have no interest in what his father does (if he even knows who his father is.)
Course, that would probably be better than if the whole movie is just them being a father-son team of adventuring archaeologists.

With Spielberg involved (and remember, I don't particularly like Spielberg) at least this number 4 won't be wooden and boring like Phantom Menace. On the other hand, I have a bad feeling we'll be seeing another A.I. instead.

Lucas and Spielberg do seem to balance each other out fairly well though. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I doubt it.

Okay, this is bugging me... I had read an interview with him where he was denying his role in Indy 4.

I don't have the quote, but it was something along the lines of "Steven was involved in Disturbia, Steven's involved in Transformers, so everyone assumed I was involved in Indy 4."

I mean, I don't mind the casting, but this whole "is he or isn't he?" thing's bugging me.

It's not longer an "is he or isn't he?" issue.

His role in the movie had been rumored for awhile, but Spielberg made an official announcement that he had been cast last Friday, not so coincidentallly the same weekend that Disturbia opened.
