In this day and age of cell phones that take pics, video cameras, electronic media and advance technology accessable to millions...whoudn't it be obvious that someone whould have caught more tangible photos of one of these mysterious beasts by now? Just sayin....

As much as I would like to agree with you I'm afraid it isn't as simple as that. One, you need to have your cell phone/camera out and ready as most sightings take place in a matter of seconds AND you have to hope the lighting and distance between you and whatever you're seeing is good enough for the camera to get a decent shot.
There have been several instances where footage has been shot, usually with a cell of some sort however the picture quality is normally lacking to the point that blobsquatches have been proven to exist. LOL.
I feel badly for sincere witnesses who have been harrassed, unfortunately some people become unduly aggitated when their worldview is shaken. I find this happens most often when people to closely associate 'what' they are with 'who' they are, you often see this with religions and racial groups. (ie, your aren't a 'man' you are a 'white' man or a 'christian' man, desciptors are fine but they shouldn't form the core of your identity) When anything happens to challenge that core, say refusing to go along with a strange religious belief or challenging their skin tone, things get nasty. Its the same for some people when it comes to unknowns like Bigfoot and lake monsters. Because if they turn out to be true, what else have they been wrong about?
So for them it's easier to make the witness shut up than to deal with possible change.
In my experience, those who claim to have seen...something...are largely harmless & occasionally nutty. (These last a minority.)
While my reading has led me to conclude there is no Bigfoot or large sea serpent inhabiting the Loch Ness, I don't begrudge people who have concluded the opposite. (After all, the coelacanth WAS real so who knows.)
I'm a preacher (reasonably educated I like to think) and do not condone the attacks you mentioned in your article. Whatever the difference may be, God never allows us to attack, whether physically or verbally, those with different OPPINIONS.
Having said that, I apologize to you for those who claim to follow Jesus yet have treated you in a way that Jesus himself never would.
So, as long as you avoid taking hallucinogenic substances, continue to see what you can and share it with others.
